I was not at all surprised to learn upon my first googling of actor Egor Venned, the leading man in the brand new queer folk-horror film No Rest For the Wicked, that he's also a model -- half of the movie just hangs on the cut of his cheekbones. The camera is completely in love with him. So it's not so surprising when the character played by Game of Thrones actor Pilou Asbæk (himself a dish) rolls into town that he's immediately drawn beauty-ward... anyway I saw this movie at Fantasia and it's the second review that dropped while I was out of town, so click on over to Pajiba to read my thoughts. I also shared the film's first trailer there (it's down at the bottom of the review) so you can see in motion how ridiculously pretty Venned is. Which isn't the only reason to see the movie -- it's a beautiful and haunting little thing -- but the palpable heat between Venned & Asbæk (seen below being his gorgeous self) is in itself on its own worth the price of admission. (Also the sweaters. The sweaters! Oh my god I love a sweater movie.)

Good (Birthday) Morning, World
Well these gifs of a nude James Norton have been a few days coming -- I only got around to this week's episode of House of the Dragon last night though. So even though I knew this scene existed, -- given the filthy pl;aces I congregate regularly on the internet -- I decided to wait until I watched the episode to make my own. And here we are! I might have had more to say about them -- Although what really is there to say? There's hisw bum! Cherish it! -- but I got trapped on an extremely slow subway train this morning and gopt to my desk an hour late, thereby kicking off my birthday -- yes it is today! -- with sweat and annoyance. It's going to be almost 100 here in NYC today -- I hate having a summer birthday so much -- so all around, just a great start. But James Norton's bum is here for me, at least. And I am here for all of you fine people with said gifs of exactly that after the jump...

Fabien Frankel Five Times
When I watched the third season premiere of House of the Dragon two nights ago I heard a little whisper coming from my heart (I think it was my heart) saying, "There will be Fabien Frankel photoshoots soon." And sure enough! The whisper never lies. And it's thanks to our favorite people over at Behind the Blinds magazine again (via) -- god they get it. That said I hope I'm being impatient and more photos show up (as they tend to with BTB) because these ones released so far? Not the most exciting photoshoot I've ever seen. Especially since we know Fabien is capabkle of better. So fingers crossed this is just the start. Oh and I suppose I should ask -- what did y'all think of HotD's premiere? I thought once it got going it got GOING -- obviously that battle sequence was one for the ages. And they managed to land more than one of those patented GoT-esque "Holy shit I can't believe they did that" emotional wallops as well. Good on 'em! And now hit the jump for the photos...

Good Morning, World
I am just going to assume that most of you who care about such things already saw the photos of Finn Jones here on the set of the next season of Daredevil Born Again, meaning a controversial return for him to the Iron Fist character -- those give me some sort of reason to be talking about Finn Jones at all, who I haven't seen in anything since then. I'll be damned though if he doesn't look perhaps the best he's ever looked in these new photos here though, so good on ya, Finn. I never watched Iron Fist, I only knew him via the group-up series The Defenders (plus his gay bit on Game of Thrones of course) and he left little impression on me (with Charlie Cox and Mike Colter standing there who stood a chance) but I am willing and open to what ya got to bring now, Finn. Anyway! Happy Monday! I have a busy day ahead so it might be a little quiet. We shall see.

Good Morning, World
British actor Daniel Ings has been making a name for himself over the past couple of years thanks to showy roles in Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen series (which was where I had my "Who the hell is he???" moment) and then as the party-loving Ser Lyonel Barotheon on A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms (which is where I think most other people had that moment). Or amybe you know him from Sex Education? (I never watched that show.) But as eye-catching and entertaining as he was on those series I have to admit I am suddenly, now that I stumbled upon these gifs, longing for a return to THIS LOOK which he was rocking circa 2020 on the British series I Hate Suzie opposite Billie Piper. Bring back the bear, Daniel! The bear, the beard, the all of it. Woof! I actually tried to watch IHS over the pandemic but it didn't land with me so I gave up after a couple of episodes -- now I sure feel the fool. Just look what I missed out on!

Good Morning, World
Look who popped his head outta his hidey-hole (aww that was Froy's nickname) the other day on Insta -- Richard Madden, the Games of Thrones and Eternals actor who seems to've decided on a generally low profile ever since those things, for reasons unknown. That makes him sound like a groundhog -- hey if Richard Madden making an appearance predicts six more weeks of something, what would that something be? Give me some answers in the comments...

Good Morning, World
My first instinct upon seeing this photo of Knight of the Seven Kingdoms star Peter Claffey (well okay it was technically my second instinct, but we won't go into my first instinct here in mixed company) was to set it aside for my annual post of hot guys smoking that I post every May to celebrate the anniversary of when I quit smoking. But then, staring at all six foot five of the man there, I realized it'd be cruel not to post this photo for us all to appreciate immediately. It also allows me to ask if any of you watched the show's premiere, and what you thought? Even though I thought the last season of Game of Thrones was such a mixed bag I was ready to leave Westeros behind forever (Martin's refusal to finish his goddamned books hasn't helped) but I did find myself pulled back in by House of the Dragon, and right off the bat I liked KotSK as well. I guess I remain a Westeros nerd after all. But I found Claffey to be a real charmer, there was some great hot homo-tension between him and actor Daniel Inges, and most of all it certainly didn't hurt that this brick wall of ginger ass greeted us so early in the proceedings:

Good Morning, World
Sometimes I feel like I'm stretching the boundaires of what a "Good Morning, World" post is supposed to be -- it's supposed to be, in a perfect world, a photograph of an attractive actor doing something morning related, like waking up in bed, showering, or standing around in a bathrobe and boxer shorts with milk and cereal. But not today! No stretching for Fabien Frankel today! (Don't say it, don't say it...) The dreamy House of the Dragon and Task actor (who's been on our radaer ince The Serpent way back) gave us an ideal "Good Morning" post today with his new photoshoot for The Gentlemen's Journal. You can read his interview over here. And then you can hit the jump for the photos...

Good Morning, World
Since I've been extremely busy and traveling for the past couple of weeks I haven't had a moment to watch any of the second season of The Sandman (and with the horrors revealed about Neil Gaiman it didn't feel too pressing) but when I saw these two gifs of blond beauty Freddie Fox making the rounds I felt the need to move it up the list. Anybody watched the second season yet? If you're unsure where you know Freddie from it might be The House of the Dragon or it might be Queer as Folk creator Russell T. Davis' hella-gay miniseries Cucumber or it might be this great big gratuitous post I did on him backin 2018 when I mistook him for one of the Dunkirk Twinks. Remember that phenomenon? At least Christopher Nolan gave culture something once. As did Sandman:

Sucking the Boys Dry At Home!
If you somehow haven't seen Robert Eggers' tremendous Nosferatu yet I will try not to judge you (oh wait, too late) and simply direct you to the streaming service Peacock, where the film is now available to stream from the comfort of your reclusive bubble. Here is my review of the film, which technically landed at #4 on my favorite movies of 2024 list but ask me another day it could've been my number one. Having watched it at home and in the theater (repeatedly) now I can say with certainty that the movie really benefits from the theatrical experience -- for one it's a dark movie...
People who complained about NOSFERATU being "too dark" really never watched GAME OF THRONES did they

... although in a purposefully meted out way; this isn't sloppy darkness. It's painterly. But you need the screen to be large to really appreciate the detail of what's happening inside of Eggers' frames. But if it's to be at home you might be better off watching the 4K disc of the film as opposed to relying on the quality and strength of a streamer's transmission. But you do you! Just turn off all of the lights and let the mood envelope you. God I love this (sorta gay) movie.

Fabien Frankel Nine Times
I was wondering when the magazine industrial complex was going to catch up with House of the Dragon's Fabien Frankel -- proper exploitative photoshoots of this man have been hard to come by as of yet, but finally somebody (The Glass magazine specifically) bit! When I posted that hot pair of photos of Fabien yesterday I actually already knew this shoot also existed but held off posting it so we didn't O.D. on his hotness. (Indeed even as I do post these I know of another even newer shoot -- perhaps we'll post new Fabien every day this week!) Anyway I think we've recovered enough from yesterday that we can handle these sexy snaps. Take a few deep breaths and hit the jump for them all...

Good Morning, World
These two photos of House of the Dragon hottie Fabien Frankel feel appropriate to this Monday morning because 1) last night's episode of that show was pretty major and I am still in emotional recovery this morning from it, and 2) it is disgusting July hot right now and the red of these photos is very much my mood after my sweaty rancid commute this morning. I am this same color! God I hate Summer so much. The fact that I was born right in the middle of it (my birthday's in a week, wink wink) has always seemed like the cruelest of jokes. Devil season!

Big Cigars & Even Bigger Estates
The New York Times chatted with MNPP faves Alessandro Nivola and André Holland over the weekend on their new series The Big Cigar, about the unexpected friendship between Black Panther co-founder Huey P. Newton and Hollywood producer Bert Schneider back in the 1970s, premiering on Apple+ on May 17th -- read it here. But wait! There's more Nivola News! I wish there was enough Nivola News for us to have a weekly column titled just that -- Nivola News. I could make a logo and everything. Anyway he works enough that it feels like it sometimes, bless him. Anyway Deadline reported this morning that Mr. Nivola has joined the cast of the third Downton Abbey movie, which is happening. Not really a surprise, given that the last movie did well (and was pretty delightful to boot.) He joins the cast along with Paul Giamatti, Joely Richardson, Simon Russell Beale (who I can't believe hasn't been on the show previously) and Arty Froushan -- I knew that last name was familiar and sure enough I already followed him on Instagram because...
... he's one of the super hot guys on House of the Dragon. In fact he was one of the super hot GAY guys on House of the Dragon -- if you need a recap of that storyline click here; to be honest I'd completely forgotten all of that myself. I am going to need a real recap on that series when it returns later this year! Anyway I think Froushan himself is gay but don't quote me on that -- his social media and some articles seem to point in that direction but I couldn't find a definitive quote before my laziness took over. It's a real ticking time bomb, my laziness -- answers best show up fast or I'm out! Anyway whoever he's fucking in real life Froushan is a hot one...
... and I hope Downton takes advantage of that. Where did we last leave our favorite hot gay footman Thomas Barrow (Rob James-Collier)? I can't remember how the last movie ended. He was flirting with both the actor and the King's dresser? Am I mashing different movies up in my head? Anyway just throw Alessandro Nivola in there and bring back Charlie Cox's gay character (and as seen below Froushan is in the new season of Daredevil after all so Charlie can just jump on his back, ahem, and ride over) and then have the entire third Downton movie be a bunch of gays fighting and fucking threir way through the 1940s. We've earned it dammit!

Kit Harington is Dreadful
Here is some welcome news -- Games of Thrones actors Kit Harington and Sophie Turner are reuniting for a gothic horror movie! Honestly, Kit was built in a lab to play sad-faced Poe-boys so I don't understand why he hasn't done that. Isn't it easy to picture his bosom heaving as a Jack-the-bodice-ripper type? I mean they rebooted Hammer Films and they haven't come calling to Kit yet? WTF? Anyway there's other good news here, besides the thought of Kit in a blousey white poet's shirt standing in a downpour -- the writer-director of this movie (which PS is called, quite perfectly, The Dreadful -- let's just hope it's good otherwise you've handed us critics a lot to lazily pun around with, aka like this very post's title) is Natasha Kermani, whose 2020 movie Lucky was really quite good! Here is my review of that film -- it's streaming on Shudder so do yourself a favor if you haven't already. Back to The Dreadful though -- here's the little bit of info we have on the plot:
"... the film [is] set against the backdrop of the War of the Roses follows Anne (Turner) and her mother-in-law Morwen, who live a solitary, harsh life on the outskirts of society. But when a man (Harington) from their past returns, he will set off a sequence of events that become a turning point for Anne."
Yadda yadda let's hope it's a sexy "turning point." Although -- will it be weird for Kit and Sophie, who plays semi-siblings for eight seasons of Winterfell antics, to get sexy? Whatever, that show was stuffed with incest, we'll get over it. One other Kit-related question I was just wondering the other day though, with regards to their brief turns in the Marvel Cinematic Universe -- do we think we'll ever see his character (Dane Whitman aka the Black Knight) or Richard Madden's ever again? Or does the MCU just wanna forget everything Eternals-related? It seems like you'd have to have an Eternal or two popping up at some point again...

Good Morning, World
Whoops I am being lazy again! Yesterday I shared two photos of House of Dragon actor Fabien Frankel with you from Man About Town magazine because they were the first images I saw online that morning and they seemed plenty. Well today I am sharing one additional yet single and solitary photo of Fabien from the exact same photo-shoot, and I didn't even see this one this morning -- I saw it last night and I decided you know what? Good enough. And it is! Good enough! I mean look at them legs. Just begging to be tossed over one's shoulders...

Good Morning, World
As I said the last time I posted a couple of photos of House of the Dragon actor Fabien Frankel back in September, I feel some ownership over Fabien's lil' breakout (to be, at this early point still) since I knew the second I laid eyes on him opposite Tahar Rahim in The Serpent that he could be going places. The two of them oozed so much homoerotic chemistry how could I not sit up and take notice? Anyway this new shoot is for Man About Town magazine (via) and there will probably be more to come but I'm being a little lazy this morning, posting the first photos I saw. But they're good and worth posting, wouldn't you say?

Fabien Frankel Two Times
Can I call it or can I call it? The second I saw Fabien Frankel here standing opposite Tahar Rahim in just their briefs on the Netflix serial killer series The Serpent I knew I'd spotted a star, and here he is covering Wonderland magazine a mere year later thanks to his big role in the Game of Thrones spin-off House of the Dragon. You can see the cover image over here where I swiped these from -- are we all watching HOTD? I think it actually hooked me last week and then this week's episode was another good one. Anyway I do hope we get more photos from this shoot but let's just enjoy these two for now.

Good Morning, World
A happy 49 to Stranger Things and Game of Thrones actor Tom Wlaschiha today -- no I wouldn't have guessed he was about to turn 50 either. Dude is aging real good (although the above photo is a couple of years old -- see the Instagram post down below for a snap circa yesterday that truly proves my point.) Anyway as I was saying on Twitter over the weekend that based on the renewed interest in an old video of him that I posted circa Thrones Tom is apparently the human version of Kate Bush's song "Running Up That Hill" in that the tweens have discovered him, and they are into it. Good taste, tweens! See lots more of him in our archives!

Tom Wlaschiha Seven Times
What an unexpected treat it's been, seeing Tom Wlaschiha get some attention again thanks to the latest season of Stranger Things, after some time uhh you not, not having that -- Tom first caught our eye back in 2011 the very second he got cast in the role of "Jaqen H'ghar" in Game of Thrones and I did a big gratuitous post about him; even though the show under-used him (he was after all playing a character who could shape-shift) I still posted about him a lot, but it's been a minute since he's been on anything I have watched. But now...
Spent about half this season of #StrangerThings4 wishing these two’s scenes were gonna turn into a MIDNIGHT EXPRESS homage pic.twitter.com/Y8a3samatn
— Jason Adams (@JAMNPP) June 4, 2022
... I watch. And I like. Not just the sexual tension between him and David Harbour (not just that) -- I have seen some people complaining about the recent batch of episodes as being too scattered and bloated but I liked them? I don't necessarily disagree with those complaints, but if they hadn't had the probably superfluous Russian Prison storyline I wouldn't have gotten my sexual tension, so bring on the bloat if you ask me. Anyway these photos are from the ever reliable Zoo Magazine (via) and there are more after the jump...

Pics of the Day
The first photos from AMC's upcoming Anne Rice's Interview With the Vampire series (and good for Anne -- RIP queen -- for getting that above-the-title treatment) have arrived, showcasing actors Sam Reid (mmmm we love him) as Lestat and Games of Thrones' Jacob Anderson as Louis, aka the Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt roles from Neil Jordan's 1994 film adaptation we all still remember well enough, I assume. There are a couple more photos at People, where these ones came from -- the series is out sometime this year. What do we think at first blush?
