Time for yes yet another NYFF review -- this time we're talking Cristian Mungiu's Cannes-winner Fjord, which played my hometown fest this past weekend, and you can read my thoughts right here. It re-teams A Different Man duo Sebastian Stan and Renate Reinsve as ultra-religious parents who find themselves targeted for their parenting techniques in Norway -- the film's been seen as conservative by some but I think that's a nonsensical superficial read, personally. Which is to say:

We love a movie that believes lesbians have magical powers
