Pedro Pascal's Gay For Play

Let's all make a pact right now -- I'm going to try to post this news without going off the edge, and y'all try to do the same in the comments. Even though I know y'all commenters are maybe even more tired of Pedro Pascal's glass closet omnipresence than I am. And I am very. I'm just mostly of the mind that anything that gets a new Todd Haynes movie greenlit is worth praise, even if Pedro's coming at it with a lot of baggage. That said the project itself has baggage, since I'm sure y'all remember how Joaquin Phoenix bailed on this at the very verrrrry last minute last August and caused the entire thing's collapse. Baggage meets baggage. Anyway I've just now realized I haven't mentioned what I'm even talking about lol -- all y'all who aren't as online as me are probably like WTF, but I doubt many WT-Fuckers are visiting MNPP -- I have a knowledgable clientele, baby. But yes let's step back -- Pedro Pascal might be taking over the lead role in Todd Haynes' gay movie that got nuked when Joaquin dropped out of it. It has a title now that I don't recall seeing before -- De Noche -- and actor Danny Ramirez, who was set to be the co-lead in its earlier incarnation, will be coming back. Good for Danny -- I felt especially bad for him. I can't say I'm looking forward to another round of interviews from Mr. Pascal where he tells us all the details of the death of a close relative one second and then pivots to "I keep my private life private!" as soon as his sexuality's broached, but maybe he'll answer the fucking question for this. Time will tell! In summation, hey there Danny Ramirez...

Yawn. I get so tired of the over-exposure of stars like Pedro Pascal.

I'm with you. Pascal annoys the shit out of me.

I agree. I don't understand the adoration.

And yet - his "overexposure" is not the point of this article.

He is overexposed, but I was talking about his verbal gymnastics. In his Vanity Fair cover story he tells a familiar story of growing up a sensitive gay kid w/o ever saying he's gay. It's insulting.

I understand that people could have some problems with Pascal’s attitude (though he’s entitled to take his time for an eventual coming out, even if I agree this seems a quite…outdated?) but in general I like him and I’m actually glad this project could be revived, especially for Todd Haynes who actually didn’t deserve that treatment from Phoenix. Yep, I don’t remember the title De Noche, anyway…

WELL, GIVE HIM SOME TIME... EVERYONE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO COME OUT IN HIS OWN PACE, NO?

I understand overexposure. The thing with Pedro is that he's been at this for a looong time, and he's FINALLY getting some flowers, so it does bother me as much as it does with the Sydney Sweeny-s or Jacob Elordi-s.

I like him, but I am fascinated by another thing he never talks about: he and his family fled the US after his physician father was accused of stealing the eggs of fertility patients and implanting them in other women without their knowledge or consent.

WHAT?!?

He's not even a guarantee for the Box Office I don't know why they keep giving him roles in big movies, he doesn't have great acting skills either.

He comes from a very wealthy family and always plays the victim LOL !

So many people get triggered over Pedro Pascal for absolutely nothing.

Sorry. I actually think Pedro has mad sexual chemistry with male costars from Nic Cage to my beloved Mescal to Chris Evans. His chemistry with female costars is decidedly platonic bestie. His chemistry with Danny could be off the charts.

Yup

You need to be careful where you can post this because his 18 year old stans are gonna swarm your mentions yelling at you to stop speculating on his private life.

No person writing posts for this website is "speculating" when it comes to the subject of Pedro Pascal's sexuality, I'll just say that

Poor Danny Ramirez and all the actors involved in this film.

Noone hates a successful gay man more than other gay men.

I actually haven't seen the last few Todd Haynes since I'm Not There (which I enjoyed greatly), when his name used to be appointment status. That had a lot to do with being very busy the rest of that decade and then moving someplace where it was a chore to try to catch something like May December or even Dark Waters in a theater. Not everyone is blessed with good art houses and rep cinemas, people.

The potential of this is no more enticing than May December was and actually FAR less since no butt shots of Charles will be on offer.
