I've been pushing my review of the Paul Reubens documentary Pee-wee as Himself pretty relentlessly all weekend -- I even posted about it on Instagram, with a little bonus bit you might not want to miss -- but now the time has come to push it here at MNPP. I'm pretty proud of this one -- I can't overstate the importance of Paul and Pee-wee to being a big part of the brickwork that built up this weirdo standing before you today, and the doc does extremely right by him. What a wonderful review of the documentary and appreciation of Paul Reubens and his legacy. I'm looking forward to seeing it.
As soon as I finished the documentary, I checked to see if you had reviewed it. You didn't disappoint. One of your best reviews.
I normally don't like bio docs. But this was good. It made me realize how much I loved pee wee. I got teary. And I even saw a piece on his playhouse set that I actually own. Probably not the same exact original. It's a metal sign in the shape of a blue bowl with scoops of pink ice cream. I was so jazzed to spot it. It's hanging in my laundry room.
