I meant to remark upon this last week when word began to swirl down around her as the one but I think Carey Mulligan will make a great Daisy Buchanan for Baz Luhrmann's Great Gatsby. I really, really do, and I can't find any fault or argument with her landing the role. No what I must remark upon is the rumor I read somewhere last week - and of course I can't find the link now - that the film was Scarlett Johanson's if she wanted it but she passed in order to do Cameron Crowe's We Bought a Zoo. I commend ScarJo for not taking the role - perhaps she realized she would've been a terrible totally wrong choice? I can hope. But that proves she had more sense than Baz, who somehow thought she would've worked. I usually like ScarJo just fine, but as Daisy? Or perhaps she realized that people like me would've ripped her to shreds for even trying the part. Anyway smart girl.

And hooray for Carey! She'll do great. But I love how Baz leaves the door open for this not even being his next project, even with Carey attached. That man, ugh.

Let's just not get into Leo and Tobey as Jay and Nick.
