Everybody's Surfin' Now...

... quite possibly up to and including Barack and Michelle Obama? Just hear me out: at the local multiplex the other day I saw a massive, like full-story-tall version of the following poster for Roland Emmerich's upcoming destruction-porn flick 2012:

I wish I could find a massive version of the poster online but this is the largest one I found. But seeing the poster in person so very large as I did you could really take in the details, and honestly I swear that the pair of figures on the White House lawn, which you can barely even see in this sized version, totally looked to me like they could be the silhouettes of our President and First Lady.

See, they're just pixelated blobs in an image this size so they could be anything, anybody, any two fools standing on the lawn staring down the big ol' boat coming down on their heads. But there was something about the silhouettes in the enormous version, the tall lankiness of the man, complemented by the shape of the woman... I don't know, maybe it was just the fact that they were two figures standing on the lawn of the White House that made me associate these forms with the Obamas. But I don't think I'm off base.

I'm not really moralizing over this. I've heard the people crowing about how gross it is to want to watch destruction-porn like this, all those tiny pixelated people being crushed and walloped by the end of the world is a sick form of entertainment, blah blah, I am going to see 2012 on the biggest fucking screen I can when it comes out and eat it all up with a spoon.

But if they did indeed intend to even in a coy way hint at two of the tiny speck-ish pixel-people getting washed over by that massive wave are the first couple, and on their film's poster no less... well I just think that's a thing worth noting, no?

It's def a pair of people, anon, that much I could tell from the larger poster in person.

In the trailer Air Force One is shown several times so, oh wait I forgot that the movie and the poster often have nothing to do with each other.
