That's the general idea.

First of all I spent the last few hours going through your webpage archives and I must say… it was quite an emotional rollercoaster. Reliving the memories of cinema 2005, naughty pop- culture tidbits, movie reviews, celebrity pics and (your signature) Jake Gyllenhaal. I really just love the pictures and how he randomly pops up every few days. There was one post where you showed Jake dinning outside with a guy and girl and you wrote a commentary on it THAT HAD ME (no lie) LAUGHING MY ASS OFF. Witty, slick and oh so much fun. Needless to say I’ve already bookmarked your website in my “favorites.” I came across your two reactions to Brokeback Mountain and was surprised at how much they touched me. Really, I re-read them a few times and their quite profound. You website is just so refreshing to explore. Good times bad times, ugly times (“Black Sunday”). You get my point. Anyway, one quick question; and this only sprang to my mind when you hesitated on placing Jake at #1 for you’re a “working actors” and the Ashton Kutcher thing. Are you a diehard, eternally devoted Gyllenhaalic (good looks aside think he’s a damn good actor etc) or not quite as permanent?

I knew I never should've expressed doubt in my Gyllenhaal-love! YES, I am a diehard Gyllenhalic. I don't think he's given a single bad performance (I am convinced he should do another comedy because I actually really enjoy ubble Boy, for God's sake). I only questioned placing him at #1 because, for one, I was worried how much my adoration of him was coloring my opinion of his actual acting, and also because he's young and other than Jarhead and Brokeback has kinda played the same character over and over the past few years. I mean, if I wanted to go into an in-depth exploration of what he's accomplished (and I've been awake now for about 10 minutes, so this is the not the time for that... maybe I will do that soon, though, it's not a bad idea, have a Jake-Week or something) I could note the subtle differences between the characters he played, how he played them, in say The Good Girl and Lovely & Amazing... but the point is, he's still young and, as great as he think he is, I think he can get even better. So I'm hesitant to crown him The Best Actor Alive til he challenges himself some more, and just... works some more. I'm not worried he won't.

Anyway, like I said, I just woke up, and this half-brained diatribe's the best I got in me til some caffeine gets coursing through these veins. But THANKS so much for reading, Ryan, and enjoying everything! Keep coming back - I've been mulling ideas as of late for sprucing up this place some, so hopefully we'll get even better.

I must agree with Ryan, I think your blog is insightful. I can tell you really put your feelings into it. I recently taught a class on blogging and I must say, I used yours as an example. I need to work on my blog. I have little time and lack the creativity. Therefore I teach using others, such as yours. I check it every few days and see how things are going. I must say I love your moods. As a movie lover, I think it is classic. I might have to "steal" that idea for my blog as well...
