The Two Faces of Cooper Hoffman

As I prepared this post -- yes, I do the work! -- I realized I kept typing "I Want Your Sex Movie" into Amazon and I think this may've been Gregg Araki's long game. He's going after our algorithms. I mean it's not like my algorithm needed much dirtying up -- lol as if -- but for those of Gen Z who the movie has words for re: a fear of sex, this one's for you. Anyway -- Gregg Araki's I Want Your Sex movie has landed on VOD today! You can rent it right here, although you might want to wait for that price to come down -- 25 bucks is aggressive for a digital rental, yo. (The blu-ray, a format I much prefer, is out in October and you can pre-order that right here.) Not that the movie isn't worth all the money however you manage to see it -- click here if you never read my review. This movie is pure pop silliness and I had so much fun with it. And it also finally landed me a Cooper Hoffman crush -- he's the best of the latest crop of nepo-babies by far. Look at that face! Aww!

I Want Your Brainsss

I considered waiting a little bit for another review of mine that is dropping later this afternoon, but what the hell -- not being patient guarantees me another post today and given the case of the Murky Mondays my head's currently swimming in that's not a gift I should side-eye. And linking to two reviews in one post is already a bounty, a bouffet -- then you add on half-naked Mason Gooding and -- I feed you people well dammit. That photo is one Mason himself shared from his behind-the-scenes experience making Gregg Araki's I Want Your Sex, which my review of dropped at Pajiba on Friday. Read it right here. Surprising nobody I loved it -- do I wish that one of the many mentioned Grindr hook-ups that Mason's character kept talking about happened on-screen? Duh and durrr. Of course. But then there's a scene where Mason's in short running shorts and a half-shirt and I remember Gregg Araki always feeds us well too.

The other review of mine that dropped over the weekend was another one out of Fantasia Fest -- click here to read my thoughts on the horror doc Black Zombie, which ingeniously speaks about the undead-genre through the lens of Haitian and American race history. It's a terrific doc about The Movies -- as I say in my review it's yet another one that throws all the money I spent on getting a Film Studies degree in college into a big fire-pit; what I probably spent an entire sememster's worth of thousands of dollars on you can now see in a compact and fun little documentary. No I am not bitter, you're bitter. Great movie though! And as I said at the top -- stay tuned, I've got another Fantasia review dropping shortly...

Mason Gooding Seventeen Times

Normally I would feel overwhelmed by the sexy onslaught slamming into me this Thursday, as it's keeping me from getting any other substantive work done, but my brain is so fucking fried by this heat (Have I mentioned the heat yet? Perhaps in every post today?) I'm happy that a new photoshoot of MNPP fave Mason Gooding showed up in front of me (via) the literal second I finished making dozens of wet slutty gifs of MNPP Charles Melton. This is easy, gratuitous grunt work, keeping my dullard's brain occupied with forward momentum and gigantic pecs. It's about all I can handle today! Hit the jump for the remainder of our Mason here...

Good Morning, World

Well well well Mason Gooding half-naked three first posts of the day in a row? I will allow it. (Here is yesterday's and here's last Thursday's icymi.) Anyway normally I would flip these pictures around since the second one is more of a close-up and those are better to lead with and normally I would crop out the type as well, but there's a silly little progression to his captions (via) so whatever's getting him to exploit himself for our benefit, I'll accept it. I'll allow it, I'll accept it -- I'm in a very giving mood this morning. Should I say that twice to make sure Mason Gooding really hears me? He heard me. You heard me, Mason.

Climbing Up the Walls

Hey! 'Scuse my tardiness -- forgot to mention last week that I had a lil' movie screening this morning that was delaying my return from the extended summer weekend. But much like Mason Gooding there, only without being at all in any way shape or form like Mason Gooding, I have now crawled out of my hole and voila, it's me. In all my resplendant glory. Which, a reminder, is not a whiff like Mason Gooding's resplandant glory. But it's what I got to work with! Anyway happy Monday. Let's try to be people again. We'll see how that goes. The life long project, that.

Gooding, Mason, World

This photo of Mason Gooding (via) is as close as I'm going to be getting to his upcoming comedy 72 Hours since I'm a deeply anxious person and Kevin Hart's constant screaming in all of his movies makes me have to run for the exit. But I am happy to have this photo of Mason! Hopefully there will be more and I can eventually see all of those online, silently, removed from all of their context. I admit I'm feeling particularly high-strung this morning -- I figured I'd be fine, coming in to work this morning, since the Knicks Parade that's happening downtown literally ends fifteen blocks from where my office is. Reader, I was mistaken. My subway was slow, crowded, and getting off was even worse -- trying to just get my coffee and get to my building's front door was some "Nam shit. I am shook. I mean listen, as much as I loathe sports I've been generous with this basketball stuff in NYC for the past few weeks -- I liked seeing my city celebrating and excited. But those were night-time things! Don't come between me and my Dunkin at 8:30 in the morning, yo.

I Want Your Trailer

As promised alongside the film's poster yesterday the trailer for Gregg Araki's new film -- his first in over a fucking decade! -- I Want Your Sex has arrived! I've done all this table-setting about ten thousand times over the years this thing's been barrelling towards us but since it's trailer-time I'll do it again: the movie stars Olivia Wilde as an avante-garde L.A. artist...

... and Cooper Hoffman as her assistant who she starts getting it on with. The film also stars Mason Gooding, Chase Sui Wonders, Daveed Diggs, Margaret Cho, Johnny Knoxville, and Charlie XCX, among many, many, and many more. Now watch:

I Want Your Sex is out on July 31st. You will be seeing it. No that is not a question or a request. I am getting into the whole dominatrix thing now and I am telling you. Pretend my heel is on your throat. That's a good boy.

I Want Your Poster

Behold the first official poster for Gregg Araki's I Want Your Sex, which hits theaters on July 31st -- also they're saying the trailer lands tomorrow so surely we'll cover that when that happens. I suppose, after Pillion, you can say that we've got our second dom-com of the year here! For now just enjoy your first but hardly last sight of adorable Cooper Hoffman all strapped up and loving it. And yes I have seen this and no I have not reviewed it yet -- I saw it at NewFest but I think there's a good chance I might wait to review it closer to its release, what with Tribeca weighing down heavy on me right now. I am watching so many movies right now! I think I have watched like 30 movies since I saw this movie ffs. I have already booked another press screening of IWYS so I can refresh my brain -- don't cry, is my point! You will hear from me on this movie, have no worries whatsoever.  About that, or about the movie. (Yes that is me hinting that I liked the damn thing.) (poster via)

I WANT YOUR SEX is Gregg Araki’s TIE ME UP! TIE ME DOWN! — a fucking hysterical and sexy blast

Do Dump or Marry: Pool Boys

(click to embiggen) I think it's probably best to just ignore the dumb context for these photos of actors Anthony Keyvan, Gavin Leatherwood, and Mason Gooding hanging out in a hot tub with fruity drinks together yesterday -- it was a promotional event for Amazon Clothing, eww -- and instead just enjoy the sight of, well, Anthony Keyvan, Gavin Leatherwood, and Mason Gooding hanging out in a hot tub with fruity drinks. Or if absolutely need be go ahead and pretend that you're the skeevy billionaire who paid to have these three pretty boys splash about half-naked on your yacht -- whatever works for you. I suppose I can't judge given all of the absolute filth floating around my own brain. Anyway you know the drill -- take to the comments and "Do Dump or Marry" these three. Yes right now! (via)

Pretty Pictures For Pride

The line-up for the 2026 Pride Edition of New York's NewFest has been announced today -- they're screening Gregg Araki's new movie! The one called I Want Your Sex starring Olivia Wilde and Cooper Hoffman (as well as Mason Gooding whose fine visage I have included above) which I have talked and talked and talked about with great vigor and enthusiasm. No I have not seen it yet, and yes I think this will be my first chance. (It's hitting theaters on July 31st.)  The line-up also includes Leviticus, the queer horror film that I have seen and heartily recommend -- last time I mentioned it here was when I was complaining about my inability to write about it just yet, and as you can see I haven't done that yet. That's out much sooner -- that hits theaters on June 19th. But if you're in NYC NewFest is beating that by a few weeks! Tickets are on sale right this minute so go buy some, New Yorkers! And as a reminder the "Pride Edition" of NewFest that happens at the beginning of June is the smaller version of the festival -- the larger one happens in October. But if you'd like to see everything they are screening besides the two aforementioned titles (including some Heated Rivalry goodness) hit the jump...

Mason Gooding Twenty-Five Times

I was actually pretty surprised last week when Scream 7 came out (read my lonely loving review of that right here) and we weren't absolutely inundated with hot Mason Gooding photoshoots -- cheated! I felt cheated! I did post this one here on Friday but that was paltry in comparison to my needs so I'm glad that InStyle mag rectified the siutation a little bit today with an appropriately beefcakey take...

... on our favorite Scream version 2.0 survivor. And just to make sure since I don't think I've ever asked this before -- we are all on the same page that this nepobaby's way hotter than his dad, right? Mason is nepo-babying done right. Cuba never did much for me (although okay some of those locker-room scenes in Jerry Maguire I might've rewound and played in slow motion a few times) but Mason? Unff. Major unff. Hit the jump to unff yourself silly...

Mason Gooding Five Times

The fact that Scream 7 is getting twice as many bad reviews as the 2022 reboot did can be chalked up to a few factors, I think -- series fatigue probably, plus all of the bullshit that went down with its making definitely -- but I don't think it has as much to do with the movie itself because... babes there's no way this is worse than that 2022 movie was. I actually gave that movie a good review when it came out but subsequent viewings have proven that I was just high on the supply of having Ghostface back because that movie's a pile of shit in retrospect. I suppose that could account for the difference in Rotten Tomatoes percentages! Everybody's willing and happy to give a Scream movie a green tomato now... even when I don't think it's deserving. Cuz as I said yesterday in my brief and vague (i.e. unspoilery) review -- I dug the damn thing. I found it light on its feet and I'm looking forward to re-watching it. I guess we'll see where audiences fall -- it's going to make good money this weekend because franchise horror movies almost always do right out of the gate, but after that it's about word of mouth. I'd be sad if this one was the last one. Not because the franchise shouldn't end on this note, but because I want more still. So we'll see. Anyway here's the ever gorgeous Mason Gooding for Wonderland magazine (via) who basically simply deigned to show up again in Scream 7, smile, and then just melt me to goo in my chair. Hit the jump for the rest of the photos...

I Still Want Your Sex

THR has a great big piece today on Gregg Araki's return to filmmaking after a decade, I Want Your Sex which is premiering at Sundance this weekend -- the film stars Olivia Wilde as a provocative L.A.-based artist and Cooper Hoffman as her young assistant slash sexual conquest, and it'll surely be a button-pusher. I know I am feeling my button pushed by the photo down below of a Cooper & half-naked Mason Gooding hang-out! Anyway I'm trying to not be too bitter that I'm not able to see this since I'm only covering Sundance virtually this year and not in person, but... oh let's say I am not succeeding at that and leave it at that. So let's just enjoy this first batch of photos after the jump...

Josh Ruben Gone Wild

Horror writer-director-actor-hunk Josh Ruben has announced his next movie after last year's Heart Eyes was a Valentine's hit and it sounds like a good 'un -- he's turning Matt and Harrison Query's 2024 novel Wilderness Reform into a movie! It sounds very Nightmare on Elm Street III but set at Crystal Lake -- it's about a troubled teenager who's sent to an isolated camp with a bunch of other misfits looking to get reformed, only to find the camp counselor's cheeriness turned up to a terrifying degree. So you could also say it's the Wednesday parts of Addams Family Values turned into a horror movie. Anyway I've dug all of Ruben's movies to date -- which also includes Scare Me and Werewolves Within -- so I'm already down for whatever he's looking to serve, but the added bonus of an overly cheerful camp setting really hits home for this "went to Church Camp four years straight" human being right here. Anybody read the book? And ohh what the heck since we're here and Heart Eyes came up here's a photo that its star Mason Gooding posted on Instagram earlier:

Hello, Sydney... Again? Again

The trailer and poster for Scream 7 -- I guess they're just calling it that? Okay -- dropped this morning and here I am, sharing it with you. Now normally I tell y'all I don't watch trailers and I especially don't watch horror movie trailers because they always give away too much. But I couldn't help myself today so I actually watched this trailer. I was too curious, given the mangled-up route this one took to making (what with half of the reboot actors peacing-out), along with those bizarre casting announcements -- Matthew Lillard??? I couldn't help myself. But this trailer is extremely straightforward -- Sidney Prescott and her daughter are hunted by a Ghostface, the end. I feel as if Kevin Williamson (who wrote AND directed this one) has to have more up his sleeve than this -- right? But I guess we'll have to wait until February to find out. Watch:

Scream 7 drops on February 27th.
(I'm going to form a prayer circle that they shock us all
and Melissa Berrera & Jenna Ortega are the killers.)
(Or Parker Posey. Justice for Jennifer Jolie!)

Mason Gooding Seven Times

Mason Gooding posted these photos on Instagram saying thanks to Adidas for sending himself and his adorable doggy (who you'll see in a photo below) the clothes, and I think he's insinuating he took these photos himself? In which case I can only commend the man -- he sure knows his angles. Hit the jump for all seven snaps...

Take Another Little Piece Of My...

Heads up hot stuffs -- the Valentine's Day Slasher called Heart Eyes that stars the hot ass Mason Gooding has landed on Netflix today! You can watch it right here, or more importantly even you can read my review of it right here. It's fun! I didn't find it terribly scary but I liked it anyway. Maybe it was just staring at Mason Gooding for ninety minutes that did it. I guess we'll never know!

Gooding Morning, World

Here are three photos that Mason Gooding felt kind and generous enough to share with us on Instagram this week -- say thank you, everybody!

... And Thank Goodness For That

Who went to see Heart Eyes this weekend?
Or maybe you're saving it for Valentine's?
