François Arnaud Take Us Away

Well I ended last week by sharing one of those Men's Health workout videos of Heated Rivalry star Hudson Williams while being too lazy to gif the entire thing, so we might as well keep the theme rolling and do the same for his co-hunk François Arnaud today! François knows which side his bread's buttered on so he wore that same slutty gray Under Armour top from the show for it, bless him. Anyway I'm being lazy this time around and not giffing this video up because my office is closing early, and this is my goodbye to you for the weekend. Everybody in the path of the supposed big storm -- stay safe! I plan on barricading myself indoors with all my Sundance screeners and you know probably also this video of François uhh several times...

I could fall in love with this man fully.

I think he's damn hot until he opens his mouth.

According to HR's PSYCHOfans, he must have some kind of feud with Jacob Tierney because he talks about his experience filming his scenes and how long it took to film them and how difficult they were, blah, blah, blah.
Then Jacob tells a completely different version to François, making him look like a liar.

As in MOST cases...

I saw him say he and Jacob have been friends for 17 years. I doubt there is a feud.

After being in the business for 20 and achieving some recognition for his work he is involved in the biggest show currently on the planet.

"The biggest show currently on the planet"

Girrrl you're trippin !!!

I don't trust him; he gives me messy vibes, like he could easily be cast as one of the Fab Five on Queer Eye.

You should really not allow anonymous comments. Now the anti-Francois idiots are showing up.

I can't believe he cheated on the gorgeous Marc Bendavid with that guy with the mole who looks like the Joker.

Who here loses respect for anybody who is in Men's Health?
Why does that magazine even exists?

Anonymous said...

I think he really likes the attention he's getting, like he always wanted to be a celebrity. 🚩

Look at these morons.

I watched the series a few days ago and honestly couldn't finish it. My goodness, it's so bad, and the acting is terrible!!!

And the fandom is one of the WORST, which makes me want to know even less about the series and the actors involved!!

Yeah, it's NOT great.

I understand everyone's complaints about the show -- I just found the show to be so much fun and light and frivolous and sexy and goddamn if we don't need something like this right now. It is really hitting a pure spot in people, I don't think it's worth anyone being angry at. I know that omnipresence engenders irritation but this fever will abide and people will move on, nobody needs to get so OTT annoyed about the dumb sexy show and hot hockey dudes.I swear we think-piece everything queer to ruins. (Says the man who wrote thousands upon thousands of words about Call Me By Your Name lol.)

I think the show is a great show, with great writing and great acting, especially by the two leads—Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie. If anyone has seen any interviews with these two actors (I’ve seen several), you would realize how good their acting is, because each of their real-life personalities is very different than the characters that they play. Also, for a show that was done with a very limited budget, the production aspects are very good.
But I understand that some people don’t like the show, people’s tastes are different. What I don’t understand is the above comment criticizing the “fandom”. If this show has a lot of fans that really love the show (and the lead actors) and want to show their love when the actors make appearances and do interviews, I don’t get why this would bother or annoy anyone. The show having a lot of fans who love the show has no affect on those people who don’t like the show. So why does anyone who doesn’t like the show care that the show has a very devoted “fandom”?

Both leads seem grounded and mature for their age. An interview with the casting agents underscored what an uncommon, bolt from the blue reality the show has become, doubly so for the leads. I'm old enough now to say I'm worried for the two. We've seen time and time again what a grinding machine fame like this can be. Both TV and movies, men and women, regardless of sexual orientation. Heath Ledger is the go to example but there are so many others. May they be surrounded by the Light of all things needed for thriving.

You should worry about it. In a couple of years, they'll probably become irrelevant.
When Hollywood finds new internet boyfriends to replace them.

Anonymous said...

Whether or not they become irrelevant in a few years depends upon a lot of factors. But I think the most important factors are whether they are talented and whether they make good choices from among the many new acting roles that will now become available to them due to the huge success of Heated Rivalry.

Regarding talent, I think they are both very talented actors who have what is needed to have long acting careers. Regarding the choices they will make, this is yet to be seen. But, from interviews I’ve seen with each of them, they both seem to be mature beyond their young ages.

Well, at least neither of them has come out as openly homosexual, so that's a good sign. It will work in their favour if they want to make a name for themselves in Hollywood. So they're already playing the game.

This may have been true 10 or 15 years ago, but I don’t think it is any more. There are many openly gay actors today and their careers have not been hurt at all by coming out publicly. Jonathan Bailey is just one example—and he was just recently named People’s sexiest man alive.

Also, I’ve read that there are people criticizing the two leads of Heated Rivalry for not answering the question about their sexuality. I have no problem with them not answering this question now. Everybody should have the right to come out when they feel comfortable and when they are ready. So if either of the leads is gay (or bi), they have just as much a right as anyone else to not answer questions about their personal life until they are ready.

Here are some of the many openly gay/bi actors who are having successful careers after coming out publicly:

Newel Patrick Harris
Matt Bomer
Jim Parsons
Ian McKellen
Luke Macfarlane
Wentworth Miller
Zachary Quinto
Colman Domingo
Jonathan Del Arco
Cheyenne Jackson
Ricky Martin
Guillermo Diaz
Brandon Flynn
Kit Connor
Connor Jessup
Justice Smith

And just in one recent Netflix series (Boots), there are 5 openly gay/queer actors:

Miles Heizer
Max Parker
Sachin Bhatt
Angus O’Brien
Jack Cameron Kay

None of those actors are A-list, and sadly, the series Boots was canceled due to homophobia. So I don't think Hollywood is as gay-friendly as you say.

Besides, Bailey isn't the star of his movies, and they didn't do extremely well at the box office either.

Anonymous said...

It's true, they literally canceled Boots just so the government would approve Netflix's acquisition of Warner. And it's very sad that no one gave a damn or said anything about it despite having openly gay actors in it.
If you don't see that as a clear homophobic act by the Hollywood industry, you're nuts, man, and I feel sorry for you.

The first two episodes of this show are fully for straight women to wank over, and then from ep3 it starts getting a little more queer because of his character's story line. Loved ep6, btw.

Personal attacks “you’re nuts” are always the surest sign that someone has no facts to back up their statements.

But if you have any actual sources that back up your statement that Boots was canceled due to homophobia, I’d be interested to see them.

Anonymous said...

OMG, yes, he gives me Antoni vibes!!

Anonymous said...

Also, I never said there is no homophobia in Hollywood. I was responding to a previous commenter’s statement that if either (or both) of the two Heated Rivalry leads came out, that their careers in Hollywood would suffer. This is why I posted a partial list of the many openly gay/bi actors who are currently having successful careers in Hollywood.

And even though not many on the list I posted are considered “A-list” actors (although I would argue that at least Neil Patrick Harris, Ian McKellen, Jim Parsons, Matt Bomer and Colman Domingo are considered “A-list”), you don’t have to be an “A-list” actor to have a successful career in Hollywood.

Being openly gay or lesbian definitely affects an acting career. There are many closeted gay actors and lesbian actresses pretending to be in heterosexual relationships.

I work as a stylist, and even certain brands don't want to dress lesbian actresses. It sounds crazy, but it's true.

I've also heard that when an actor goes to audition for a series or a movie, they have to fill out a form like a kind of GayTest, or sometimes the casting director asks you directly if you're straight or gay, and agents will always recommend that you answer bisexual or queer, something that sounds “edgy,” never gay or lesbian. But the answer they're looking for is Straight.

Anonymous said...

If being openly gay definitely affects an acting career in Hollywood, as you’ve said, then how do you explain the long list of actors who are openly gay and are currently having successful careers in Hollywood (some of which I listed in my previous comment)?

Maybe your experience with with actors is not representative of all of the people who work in Hollywood (casting directors, producers, directors, etc.).
