Good Morning, World

Are they gonna get me to watch a Dr. Who thing? I think they might get me to watch a Dr. Who thing. Well we'll wait and see if any more moments like this of Russell Tovey come out of The War Between the Land and the Sea before we decide, I guess. As I mentioned the last time we posted some slutty Russell photos I, like many ignorant Americans, don't even know what you call fans of the decades-long running British franchise. But Russ in thiose little trunks is conving me to trying upping my nerd cred. But per usual I worry -- my main worry regarding a franchise that's been going for literal decades -- that I will have absolute no idea whatsoever what is happening, jumping in now. To any fans out there -- how dumb an idea is this? Should I just be thankful for these gifs and move it along?

I've never seen an episode of Dr. Who, but I intend to watch it since it's a stand alone series. Plus, you get to look at Russell. It's mainly about humanity's relationshiop with the oceans and environmentalism.

Doctor Who fans are called Whovians, & this show is part of the Whoniverse.

Russell also appeared in the Doctor Who 2007 Christmas special Voyage of the Damned alongside David Tennant's Doctor and Kylie Minogue. He is such a thin awkward babyface in that, you should look it up. It's a lot of silly fun.

Oh and if you want to see a really good Doctor Who episode from the 2005 reboot, look up the 2007 episode "Blink". In a way it's not really Doctor Who, it's just Carey Mulligan carrying the entire episode. Excellent fantasy drama.

I couldn't get into that show. A load of whooey to me. So let's call them whooeys.

I’m gay, and I was a Who fan. In the new era, they included some gay characters, and that was fine. I didn’t watch it for gay content. But recently, the showrunner, Russell T Davies, turned the show gay 24/7. The new actor playing the Doctor is gay, but that doesn’t mean the character has to be gay, right? One of the first shots of the new Doctor was him fan dancing in a nightclub (so he was pretty gay). Then there were American guest stars played by out gay actors, a drag queen villain, then they gave the Doctor a boyfriend and an onscreen kiss. The show became something else entirely different— and something I didn’t want to watch. Apparently, other fans didn’t either because the show has been cancelled. I like Russell Tovey, but it’s no coincidence that Davies cast him (and an out gay actor). I guess the gay mafia still exists.
