The series Mary & George starring Nicholas Galitzine and Julianne Moore as sexy ruffled schemers in the court of gay ol' King James I premieres on Starz on Friday (watch the trailer right here if you missed it) and so naturally we're seeing some new photos of Mr. Galitzine popping up -- these ones here are via an interview with The New York Times. He's just too pretty to live, dammit. Anyway that's obviously a promising two-some but the thing that hooked me the most was this series is from Living and Moffie director Oliver Hermanus (who is currently directing that gay love story starring Paul Mescal and Josh O'Connor.) He's talented and we we like him a lot! Anyway hit the jump for the rest of the pictures of our pretty little princeling...

Nicholas Galitzine Ten Times
.
Although I've posted about the pillow-lipped ingenue Nicholas Galitzine a couple of times now -- see a great big surprisingly gratuitous post here and see a couple of cute shots of him with Charlie Plummer here -- I still have yet to watch him in anything, although I've heard very good things about his 2016 gay boarding school romance called Handsome Devil. Shocking I still haven't watched that right? Well this brand new photoshoot (via) has certainly reinvigorated my desire to get on that. My desire to get on a great many things, actually! Hit the jump for the entire shoot...

Nicholas Galitzine Goes Mary
This project came up a few days ago and I thought I'd posted about it before but realized after a quick search that I had not, because I suck. But today's update to its cast demands I fix my mistake -- we have been trying to keep up with every announcement regarding director Oliver Hermanus' career after he made the knock-out one-two punch of Moffie (his gay South African soldier movie reviewed here) and Living (his Bill Nighy showcase reviewed here) -- we know for one that he is supposed to make a WWI gay romance called The History of Sound starring Paul Mescal and Josh O'Connor, because obviously that news caught our attention!
But there seems to be more forward momentum in this other project (it supposedly starts shooting within the next week), the one that we missed -- it's called Mary & George and it's an eight-part limited series for AMC and it will star Julianne Moore as Mary Villiers, the "Countess of Buckingham, who in 17th century England molded her beautiful son, George, to seduce King James I and become his all-powerful lover. Through outrageous scheming, the pair rose from humble beginnings to become one of the richest, most titled and influential mother and sons England had ever seen." That's via Deadline.
And today comes word (via) that actor Nicholas Galitzine, who we've documented visually here on this site far more than we've ever seen him act, is joining the cast -- presumably as the son George since he's got the "beautiful" thing down pat. And I assume the "gay" too at this point, although I don't think he's ever said as much -- but with this being like his twentieth gay role I refuse to believe that in 2023 otherwise would be allowed. Anyway this has big Savage Grace energy right? We love the cinematic canon of Julianne Moore weaponizing her sexy queer sons!

Good Morning, World
No I still haven't watched Prime Video's gay rom-com Red White and Royal Blue yet, so that's why you haven't heard my opinion on it -- I know you've been holding your breath and you should probably stop that. I'll watch it at some point since I probably have to, with my duty as an Official Gay and all (I am a member of the club) but I didn't get assigned to review the thing so I'm taking my time since I'm honestly kind of lightly dreading it.
Anything that I've seen described as "cute" as many times as I've seen this described rings all of my alarm bells, and the trailer for this was indeed excessively "cute." All that said Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez are both hot as the sun and I wanna see them hump each other, so I'll watch the blasted thing at some point - don't worry. Speaking of -- Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez, I mean -- yes, that's why we're here. I have made gifs from one of their nude scenes (possibly the only real nudity? I don't know) in the movie. Hit the jump for Taylor Zakhar Perez bum...

Nicholas Galitzine Seven Times
Before any of you ask -- nope, I still have not watched Red White and Royal Blue yet. I will at some point -- I imagine I will need something I don't need to think about very hard around the holidays, after all of these very serious NYFF screenings, and this looks as if it will very much fit that bill. So just wait a little longer for me, Nicholas Galitzine! (Or I'll just watch Bottoms for the fourth time and get my fix of you that way.) These photos are via Style magazine, or their Insta anyway -- I don't have any interview with him to share. But I definitely do have more photos! And for those we hit the jump...

Nicholas Galitzine Thirteen Times
I still have yet to see Nicholas Galitzine in you know "anything" but that hasn't stopped the post-about-him parade from chugging on undisturbed for four entire years! Today's entry comes at us via Flaunt magazine, where they've shot the young actor for their latest issue looking typically pillow-lipped and lush af, like a Caravaggio painting cycled through an Instagram filter and brought to luscious life. He's next to be seen in a Cinderella musical co-starring Camila Cabello and yeah that is not a thing that will be breaking my un-seen streak, sorry Nick! Hit the jump for twelve more photos though...

Bad Boys Go To Hell
.
On the one hand it's kinda horrible that I missed the news a full two weeks back that our up-and-coming fave Nicholas Galitzine -- check out our previous posts on him here -- got cast in the forthcoming remake of The Craft. Granted I was mid-NYFF at that point so "remakes of The Craft" weren't exactly my priority... but Nicholas Galitzine should always be a priority.
I only saw his name when I saw this week's news that David Duchovny will be in it, too. No idea who these boys will be playing -- I suppose there were boys in the original? (Oh right Skeet Ulrich was one right?) Anyway as I started this post off with on the one hand this delay on my part is horrible, but on the other hand I have an excuse to post a bunch of Nick pics now! Hit the jump for 'em...

Nicholas Galitzine Seven Times
Another day, another Nicholas Galitzine photoshoot (via), and another day where I still haven't watched Red White and Royal Blue. Oh well! In case you hadn't noticed what with all of the sporadically dropped NYFF reviews I have been a tad distracted. RW&RB will be there waiting for me like a good little attentive pup when I can come up for air again. For now we'll make do with this lovely pillow-lipped shoot of the actor, also seen memorably in Bottoms! (I just like saying that.) Hit the jump for them all...

Today's Fanboy Delusion
Today I'd rather be...
... keeping my lips moisturized with
Charlie Plummer and Nicholas Galitzine.
These shots (via their respective Instagrams) are of Charlie & Nicholas in Sundance with their film called Share, which is about a teen girl (played by Rhianne Barreto) who's confronted by "a disturbing video from a night she doesn't remember." The film is already set to debut on HBO later this year. We already did a big post on Galitzine back in 2017 -- see that here. Him and Charlie make cute together!

Good Morning, World
Now here is a sentence I am sure all of you have been dying to hear -- looks like Taylor Zakhar Perez is maaking a sneak attack from behind! I should just leave it there right? You've already fainted. But as you come back to here's my point -- when Red White and Royal Blue came out it felt like Taylor's co-star Nicholas Galitzine was getting most of the press, given he had roles in other buzzy projects (the gay princeling show with Julianne Moore, the wonderful comedy masterpiece that is Bottoms). Meanwhile Taylor hasn't even acted in another project? Which is obviously bullshit -- and forgive me if I side-eye his supposed (if not quite open) queerness as the cause of that nonsense. But that's thorny since he's been quiet on that front (especially given the rumor he's been married to a man for several years now), so I won't wade into that.
But while Galitzine is off blowing himself up like a hot air balloon for the really doomed seeming He-Man movie, Taylor's spent the last several weeks showcasing his spectacular self for Lacoste underwear (see our previous post here) and I dunno about you but it's sure pushed him to the front of my mind, personally speaking. (And no I still haven't even watched RW&RB haha.) Not that it's a competition between these two actors. But if it were. Taylor's on top! That's all I'm saying! And this new batch of Lacoste photos (for Flaunt) is a firm underline of just that. Hit the jump for them...

Giving New Meaning To International Relations
I am truly happy that a piece of gay fluff like Red White and Royal Blue exists in the world -- especially in a world that's eradicating our rights right and left. So I don't want to be too down-my-nose snob sneery towards this trailer that they have just released for the sweet, boisterous, pratfall-laden rom-com (based on a bestselling book by Casey McQuiston) about the hot Prince of England (Nicholas Galitzine) and the hot son of the U.S. president (Taylor Zakhar Perez) fucking each other's brains out.
I'm not sure this will be my cuppa, but the boys are cute and Galitzine was just incredibly funny as a clueless jock in the raucous queer high-school comedy Bottoms (reviewed here and also out later this summer) so perhaps it will prove a sweet diversion from a shitty world for a couple of hours. These days that is a lot!

Good Morning, World
I have been shit about telling y'all my mucked up schedule this week beforehand, so here's the sitch -- today and tomorrow I've got morning screenings and evening screenings as the New York Film Festival comes to an end on Friday. I'll have a few hours in between those things to possibly write things here, and to also possibly work on all of my reviews. But also kicking off tomorrow are BOTH NewFest AND the Brooklyn Horror Fest and so... I don't even know. I am very very busy for the next week. Don't expect a lot from me except reviews, which... well that's technically what I'm even here for, right? Photos like these ones of actor Nicholas Galitzine for Wonderland magazine are supposed to be the side-show to my movie-reviewing. But the beefcake is what drives the traffic, so! Anyway that's the gist. The especially sporadic for the next several days gist. Just have patience, and you'll be rewarded with two more photos of Mr. Galitzine after the jump...

Good Morning, World
Only 10 days until Mary & George drops on Starz here in the U.S.! Here is the trailer in case you missed it -- this is the series from Living director Oliver Hermnus starring pretty boy Nicholas Galitzine alongside on Miss Julianne Moore as the royal-fuckers who got one over on the hornt up King James by serving little Georgie-boy here up on a sexy platter. Kingdoms have fallen for much much less! Anyway the show already aired in the U.K. a month ago so perhaps some of you have seen it? I've had screeners for weeks but inexplicably haven't started them yet. I should be lashed... and Nicholas here should be just the boy to do it.

Quote of the Day
"It’s 2025, and queer audiences want more. We’ve all seen a lot of tropes, especially when it comes to biopics. I’m working on one right now about Alexander McQueen. He was a gay man, HIV positive, artist, genius, living in the world of fashion with addiction, and then there’s suicide. I remember watching [Ryan Murphy’s] “Halston,” and seeing there is a path of queer people being successful and celebrated and flying too close to the sun. They are incinerated in some tragic ending. I think it sticks in our heads that that our lives could potentially go down this path, when our sexuality and lifestyles have a danger or sadness to them. All the secrecy and repression. I’ve made one, my film “Beauty.” But I’d like to offer audiences something else, a different queer experience...I love films that have raw sexuality, it’ll take a lot for me to be shocked or feel endangered by queer sex. I made a TV show in 2023 called “Mary and George,” and we would stand on set trying to think of new sex positions. I would turn to Nicholas Galitzine and say, “What have you not done?” He would go, “I got fucked that way yesterday. I already did an orgy with that guy the other day. I topped that guy and bottomed for the other.” The intimacy coordinator would come over with an iPad and flip through new positions. It was the point where I was just trying to differentiate a French orgy from a British one, like Legos."
There's a fun little chat with Moffie and Living director Oliver Hermanus at Variety today where they talk about his upcoming gay romance The History of Sound starring Josh O'Connor and Paul Mescal -- a film we've mentioned ohh a few times here at MNPP -- and I just had to excerpt the entire bit about filming gay sex scenes because it made me chuckle. And also to go rewatch Mary and George immediately.

A King Fit For Topping
It had been so long since I'd posted about this project (since January, see here) that it had quite incredibly entirely slipped my mind -- Nicholas Galitzine and Julianne Moore starring in Mary & George, the very queer tale of Mary Villiers and her beautiful son George who she used to seduce King James I with back circa 17th Century England, from Oliver Hermanus, the director of Moffie and Living and the forthcoming gay WWI romance with Paul Mescal & Josh O'Connor. This is a thing and I forgot about it! In my defense there's, you know, a lot happening in the world.
Anyway a trailer dropped for Mary & George yesterday and it does not appear to be disappointing on all that we'd dreamed and hoped it might be -- it's the great Tony Curran who's playing the horned-up King and we've loved him ever since Andrea Arnold's film Red Road. This is a seven-part series that will air on Starz some time next year -- hopefully not too far into next year! Making us wait for this gorgeoues gay spectacle would be cruel in an election year. We will need the happy distraction. Here's the trailer:
So what do we think? Isn't it everything? It is everything.

Good Morning, World
Well it looks like Paul Mescal was still filming The History of Sound, his gay movie with Josh O'Connor from Moffie and Living director Oliver Hermanus, in Italy over the weekend -- either that or Paul was feeling very frisky all on his own! I shared some more-dressed photos on Friday from the set -- it seems they timed the filming of these Just-Paul scenes to coincide with the ongoing Challengers press tour, which Josh has been traveling around with while wearing the goofiest fashions his stylist can throw at him. Anyway in related Oliver Hermanus news I finally started his limited-series Mary & George with Julianne Moore & Nicholas Galitzine over the weekend and I practically finished it too -- just two episodes to go. So I'm loving it obviously but I'll write more once I have finished. Okay that's all, hit the jump for a few more photos and happy Monday...

Bottoms in Your House
Here is some happy news on a not happy day -- there's a rumor that Bottoms is finally getting a physical media release in May! The exquisite broad (and very very gay) comedy from Shiva Baby director Emma Seligman starring Rachel Sennott, Ayo Edibiri, and Nicholas Galitzine among others, has up until now just been a streaming release -- you can watch it on Prime right here. But supposedly Kino Lorber will be dropping a "special edition" of the movie on May 27th. Hooray! Here is my review of the movie from way back.

Red White and Royal Twink
I'm surprised that the full trailer for Mary & George -- Moffie and Living director Oliver Hermanus' seven-part mini-series on the gay old tale of Mary Villiers, her son George, and the King of England, starring Julianne Moore and Nicholas Galitzine and Tony Curran -- is less explicit than the teaser I shared back in November was; this longer look has far less anal sex and far more catty chit chat. Which is one assumes truer to the series itself -- there's probaby way more catty chit chat in seven episodes than there is anal sex. That's just the world we live in, unfortunately. Still this looks like a blast and I cannot wait -- it hits Starz on April 5th so only about ten weeks from now! That's not too long, we can probably make it. Just have a lot of anal sex between now and then and it'll fly by.

Good Morning, World
There's nothing "morning" related about this new photoshoot of Idris Elba for GQ but since Idris Elba photoshoots are seemingly so rare these days I'm happy to have it this morning, and to share it. Although here's where I admit that until I read the article's headline I had absolutely no idea, zero point zero zero, that he is in the new He-Man movie? He's playing Man-At-Arms? Really? Do him and Nicholas Galitzine press their pretty lips together at any point? I mean I obviously didn't get to see the film (I would have but I had a conflict the night of the press screening) but generally it seemed like critics were pleasantly surprised while audiences stayed the fuck away and it flopped. I'll have to catch up with it on VOD at this point, since I'm so buried in Tribeca stuff right now. But it sounds like we've got another Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves sutation -- critics liking a purposefully silly flop -- and hopefully that'll lead to Cult Movie status. For them both! Anyway happy Monday and hit the jump for several more pictures of handsome Idris handomsoning a'plenty...

Matt Bomer Be My Papi
.
I still haven't gotten around to seeing director John Butler's 2016 gay romance Handsome Devil (starring pillowy-lipped gratuitous post recipient Nicholas Galitzine) even though I've heard good things about it and it's been on Netflix for ages -- I guess I should do that now that Butler has a new movie coming out that looks interesting, and also gay.
It's called Papi Chulo (which translates to "Pimp Daddy" dontcha know) and it stars the ever gorgeous Matt Bomer as a sad and lonely TV weatherman (who is also, it should be noted, a true homosexual) who befriends the migrant worker (Alejandro Patiño) he hires to fix his deck, and it's got itself a trailer. Which I will now share.
