Good Morning, World

Now here is a sentence I am sure all of you have been dying to hear -- looks like Taylor Zakhar Perez is maaking a sneak attack from behind! I should just leave it there right? You've already fainted. But as you come back to here's my point -- when Red White and Royal Blue came out it felt like Taylor's co-star Nicholas Galitzine was getting most of the press, given he had roles in other buzzy projects (the gay princeling show with Julianne Moore, the wonderful comedy masterpiece that is Bottoms). Meanwhile Taylor hasn't even acted in another project? Which is obviously bullshit -- and forgive me if I side-eye his supposed (if not quite open) queerness as the cause of that nonsense. But that's thorny since he's been quiet on that front (especially given the rumor he's been married to a man for several years now), so I won't wade into that.

But while Galitzine is off blowing himself up like a hot air balloon for the really doomed seeming He-Man movie, Taylor's spent the last several weeks showcasing his spectacular self for Lacoste underwear (see our previous post here) and I dunno about you but it's sure pushed him to the front of my mind, personally speaking. (And no I still haven't even watched RW&RB haha.) Not that it's a competition between these two actors. But if it were. Taylor's on top! That's all I'm saying! And this new batch of Lacoste photos (for Flaunt) is a firm underline of just that. Hit the jump for them...

Taylor is truly one of the most beautiful men I've ever seen! I hope he gets more work soon. I know he took some time off from acting due to a death in his family, but I hope he books something soon.

His queerness (though he's not out) is definitely a reason why he doesn't get as much work, along with the fact that he's not white.

He's pretty much the only young nonwhite actor who has landed a gay role in the past few years (those seem to now be reserved for straight white guys), so I give him credit for that!

He is so much better looking than Galitzine! Hollywood is just showing how racist and sexist they are by only giving the "straight" white guy work after being in the same hit film.

lol, I meant how racist and homophobic Hollywood is (not that they aren't sexist as well)

Well, he is “white.” Not Anglo-Saxon white bread white, but white (Croatian-Hungarian-Mexican-etc) nonetheless.

Some people have meteoric careers and some people don’t. He may work steadily or throw in the towel and do something else. There are so very many people who try to make a career as an actor and go nowhere. We’ll see.

Jason not even having a tag for him but still taking Nicholas says a lot about how the mainstream gays think, too.

Anon -- I just don't have a tag for Taylor here yet because he wasn't on my radar before RW&RB and he hasn't done anything since it. So I've only done a couple of posts about him at this point. NG has worked a lot so I've had the chance to post more about him. It's not nefarious! TZP will get one soon enough, he just needs a couple more posts -- I usually give them one when I've posted like 5 times or so about them.

I was surprised how much I enjoyed RW&RB, and most of it was because of his performance.

But he’s not white-passing. Imagine him walking into a casting room for a role written for a white man. He wouldn’t even be considered. His skin is too tan and his features are very ethnic. Which makes sense because he’s biracial, not fully white.

Came across your great blog and this post in particular and I fully agree!

Taylor is far more handsome than Nicholas and natural too (in the case of their bodies). But unfortunately Nicholas is more conventional because he’s a white British man. Taylor is too ‘other’. That is enough to put him lower on a lot of people’s radars.
