Pumping Jonathan Bailey

Gays supporting gays! You love to see it, especially when they're this hot and Jonny Bailey's popping a bicep like that -- the only good thing in the Wicked movies went to see Luke Evans and his headline-grabbing bulge in the new staging of Rocky Horror this weekend and we were all graced with this perfect moment captured. Huzzah. Anyway even though I could do a whole post for just that picture I have got something else on deck -- Deadline reported this morning that Mr. Bailey will be starring opposite one Natalie Portman in a movie called, ahem, Pumping Black. Is that an actual term that cyclists use? Because it's a movie about cyclists -- Jonny will be playing one who's aging out of the sport who gets taken under the nefarious wing of Portman's character, a doctor who "will stop at nothing" to win. So Pumping Black Swan, basically. Good lord -- I'm sorry, you can't put "pumping" in your movie title no matter what, but especially not with Jonathan Bailey there.  Am I really expected to spend the next, what, year, year and a half, no being sent into a tailspin whenever I think about these things together??

Regé-Jean Page Ten Times

I have never watched a single second of Bridgerton (well okay that's a lie, I did watch the clips of Jonathan Bailey mostly naked) so when I see Regé-Jean Page I think first and foremost of Steven Soderbergh's tight little thriller Black Bag from last year, in which he was pretty good! Not really the most interesting performance in the movie (Michael Fassbender and Cate Blanchett are right there, after all) but hot golly he's handsome, so I paid attention when he was on-screen anyway. That said he's got a rom-com with the Little Mermaid herself Halle Bailey coming out in two weeks -- it's called You, Me & Tuscany and no, I have zero desire to watch it, but good for him. A gold star for working. I know a lot of people were being annoying and rooting for the T.V. star to pull a David Caruso and fail after getting too big for his small-screen britches, but those people seriously have too much time on their hands. Anyway he's on the cover of this month's Esquire and that's why we're here rambling; hit the jumpfor the photos...

Jonathan Bailey Three Times

To make it up to Jonny for focusing solely on David Corenswet's crotch in their conjoined interview this morning (although if anybody gets it, Jonny gets it I think) here are three new and deeply hot pictures of him via Wonderland magazine! There are more photos over there including several very sultry shots of him with his queer Wicked co-star Cynthia Erivo -- having had wonderful relationships with many lesbians over the years those pictures give me a special feeling. It's an underappreciated bond, that one. It's part of why the relationship between Melissa McCarthy & Richard E. Grant's characters in Can You Ever Forgive Me? felt so profound -- movies never focus on those friendships! And personally they're some of my most cherished. There's something very particular, specific, and wonderful about those bonds. Make more movies about us, please! Anyway my point is -- Jonny make'ah me drool.

Good Morning, World

Well that oughta wake you right up. I mean no offense to Jonathan Bailey -- the above photo was taken for Variety's "Actors on Actors" interview session that featured Jonny and David Corenswet chatting, which I told you about last week and which you can weatch down below -- but David's people did a better job than Jonny's getting The Photo of the spread. Emphasis on Spread! (Yeah yeah you had to see that one coming.)

Anyway if you can believe it I haven't watched this video yet!
WTF is wrong with me? Stone me in the town square toot suite!

Pic of the Day

Variety revealed their annual end-of-year batch of "Actors on Actors" pairings this morning -- see them all here -- but the one we're most excited for, naturally, is the pairing of David Corenswet and Jonathan Bailey. For reasons that are known to them. And you. And to every creature on Earth and outer space probably as well. This chat between the two gets dropped on December 7th. GIMME!

Jonny! Keep your hands where we can see them (or don't)

Quick Me on Train Dreams & Wicked 2

Train Dreams -- It's not often that I have a completely different opinion when I see a movie a second time than I did the first, and so it feels important to note when it does happen. And it very much happened with Train Dreams, Jockey director Clint Bentley's Malick-ified adaptation of Denis Johnson's book and starring Joel Edgerton as an old-timety railroad worker, on Netflix today. I saw it an Sundance in January and got swept up in the current of its lush visuals and lyrical score (from The National's Bryce Dressner), plus its fine clear-eyed close-mouthed turn from Joel Edgerton. It wasn't enough of a love affair that I felt the need to write a review at the time, but I thought my heart might grow fonder down the line.

This was not the case -- a re-watch a couple of weeks ago was like a gust of tornado winds splitting through its smoke, and all that was left rang hollow; an ash-heap where a forest once stood. It was as if the film rotated ninety degrees and revealed cardboard backing. It's got the appearance of meaning that reveals itself to be thimble-deep, like a video of somebody diving into a gorgeous lake only to break their neck on the rocks mere inches beneath its serence surface. (The score, on its own merits, still rules though.)

Wicked For Good -- Nobody should be coming to me for opinions of the Wicked movies, since this shit was always gonna be straight-up me-kryptonite from the start. And yet -- wow! This movie is really, really bad! Far worse than the already awful first one, which at least had a sense of humor, best embodied by Ariana Grande's fluffy little performance therein. This one doesn't even have the decency to have a plot, or "things that happen" -- humorless, tuneless, meandering flying-monkey malarkey, it feels like one terrible song about how a character feels piled on top of another one piled on top of another one until every iota of your patience has been crushed to yellow dust for that endless CG stretch of brick road. Bury beneath it and be done with me! In a better world people would be embarrassed. But, in the spirit of giving, I'll end on the one highlight:

There is this one shot of Jonathan Bailey in Wicked For Good, and you'll know the one when you see it, that is utter pornography, just absolute unhinged filth, and it made all of it worthwhile

The Fourgy of Our Forever Dreams

My schedule today ended up being a bit more bonkers than I anticipated so I'm hopping online later than I'd wagered (I mentioned my tardiness in this morning's post) -- point being I'm just now seeing that the devils at Vanity Fair threw Jonathan Bailey, Riz Ahmed, Harris Dickinson, and Andrew Garfield on a couch in coordinating little outfits and delivered us a video for our everlasting spank bank eternal. I haven't had the chance to actually watch the video properly yet so I have no idea what they're discussing but...

... there it is, it should be documented. Studied. Frame by frame. Thanks to the commenter who alerted me to its existence this morning -- you will be showered in the afterlife with chocolate truffles and oral sex whenever you like. Dear lord!

Do Dump or Marry: Three Hot Gays

In honor of Russell Tovey's birthday today we will toss him into a heap with two of the internet's favorite homosexuals and force them to wrestle it out for our enjoyment. Our gay gladiators! He and Andrew Scott and Sexiest Man Alive Jonathan Bailey were all photographed at... oh I don't care, some party this week. I can't be bothered to look up what it was. But it seems the right moment to "Do Dump or Marry" the three of them. Do do that in the comments and also wish a Happy birthday to Mr. Tovey! From you and from me and more importantly (like way more importantly) from these two:

Jonathan Bailey Fourteen Times

The "Sexiest Man Alive" is back at it! Just when you thought it was safe to go back on the internet without Jonathan Bailey smacking you upside the face with his hotness and crippling your ability to think about anything else -- wham! A new Esquire magazine cover-story and photo-shoot. And, fashion-wise, who so ever though up mixing his Bridgerton pomp with his modern gay stud circumstance deserves a gold star because while I don't think anybody should wear many of these outfits in the real world as a fetish spectacle they're really hitting the spot. But then Jonny always knows how to take things just that extra bit -- the placement of his hand under his thigh up above? The tiniest hint of cum-gutter flashed below? Chef's kisses. This is why our man keeps winning. Hit the jump for the shoot...

Good Morning, Sexiest Man Alive

I was laying in bed last night seconds away from turning off my phone and falling asleep when this "Jonathan Bailey is the Sexiest Man Alive!" news broke and I almost leapt out of bed, woke up my partner, and did a jig -- okay listen I was deep into my Ambien and I wasn't thinking like a normal person so yes, a little embarassing. But still! This is something! An out gay man just finagled the title of People magazine's annual ""Sexiest Man Alive" for the first time! And he made sure to take pictures for the spread that...

... would remind everyone of that fact! And I know that this is a silly meaningless title and I know it has to do with whose publicist is working the hardest and who's got the biggest PR push behind them for upcoming projects blah blah blah. I don't care this morning. And I didn't care last night when I posted to Bluesky about it (before anyone else I might add -- where's my magazine cover?)

I no longer have to feel that annoying little poke in the brain that I do every year when this comes around that, "Well they'll never pick a gay guy." It was there every single year and now it's one infintesimal annoyance I don't have to deal with in a world bursting with them. I will take any such respites that I can get so I can have all my energies for actually important things. And yes I am gonna go find and buy an issue of this on the newsstand (if I can find a "newsstand with magazines" in 2025 that is) and I recommend every else do the same. Let's make this their highest selling issue! With this photo-spread they're making it fucking easy, believe me. Hit the jump for the ridiculously sexy (for once) photos...

Jonathan Bailey Six Times

One of these days I won't be desperately behind on everything -- here's a fun fact: I'll actually be here at my desk all day tomorrow! But today is not that day so here are the photos of Jonny Bailey for Time magazine that dropped... some time this week. Hell it may've even been yesterday -- I have no concept of time right now. Or Time Magazine either! Wow really set myself up for that one. Y'all I'm so fucking tired. Hit the jump for the rest...

Happy Jurassic Jonny Day!

We're ignoring the recent news that Jonathan Bailey is taking some time off from acting to go work on his charity -- yes okay it's an amazing cause and an amazing act of selflessness and it will also make you commenters who kept accusing him of being over-exposed happy no doubt, but we prefer him directly in front of us at all times, personally. So we're ignoring it and directing everyone's attention to the fact that his Jurassic World movie is hitting blu-ray today! It's the best one since the movies were called Jurassic Park -- you can read my review of it right here -- so you should 100% grab yourselves a copy. Click here and you can make that happen! The internet is magic like that. And speaking of magic hit the jump for a couple more photos of Jonny being his gorgeous self...

Manuel Garcia-Rulfo Nine Times

When I shared the link to my Jurassic World: Rebirth review yesterday I did it alongside a nice photo of Jonathan Bailey because of course I did -- he's our reigning leading homosexual man right now! But now that that's out of the way let me step over to highlight one of the movie's smaller-roled snacks -- Mexican actor Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, who plays the daddy to a family who gets finds themselves in the unfortunate center of some scary dino-action. Manuel's been in several things I've seen before -- Widows, Murder on the Oreint Express, The Magificent Seven, A Man Called Otto (so many remakes!) -- but this was the first time I took note of him; actors almost always look great in the Jurassic movies since they're always sweaty and dirty and running around. We love sweaty and dirty and running around! And this was exactly that. So here is a 2024 photoshoot of him for GQ Mexico to lead us into another sweaty dirty Jurassic weekend; hit the jump for them all...

Everybody Do the Dinosaur

What, you thought I'd link to my review of the new Jurassic movie with a picture from the movie itself? Hell no! I'm reposting a photo of actor Jonathan Bailey -- see the rest of the shoot here -- because I know what the people want. As cute as he looks in his now branded "slutty little glasses" there's no denying those arms of his. (See also yesterday morning.) And it's kinda sad that the PR campaign for this movie is about to end with it hitting theaters today so let's enjoy this while we got it. Anyway... oh right, my review! Click here to read my Pajiba review of Jurassic World: Rebirth, which is all things considered totally fun. Yes it's a wee bit too cluttered, yes it's too long, and yes its characters do a lot of dumb things to keep the plot moving. I don't care. It's not Jurassic World: Dominion, which was so bad I considered it an assault on me personally, so I left the theater this time around pretty happy and satisfied. Director Gareth Edwards crushes a couple of action scenes, and... did I mention Jonathan Bailey? I really should. Just once.

Good Morning, World

Aaaacctually, now that I think about it,
good morning only to Jonathan Bailey's bicep.
