Yesterday I told y'all I would be sharing the trailer for the second season of Bridgerton this morning when I shared those new Jonathan Bailey photos with you, and here we are! Doing just that. Since I haven't watched a single second of Bridgerton that hasn't been in one of the trailers -- or one of the clips where Bailey gets naked, natch -- none of the trailer really means anything to me. But that didn't stop me from going over it thoroughly with my gif-makin' fingers primed to gif, and that's just what I have done. But first, the trailer!

I'd seen some lesser quality copies of Jonathan Bailey's new cover-shoot for Arena Homme+ magazine going around earlier this week and almost jumped on posting them but I'm glad I waited for the HQ versions to drop (via) because this shoot demands embiggening.

Ooh today is coming in hard and fast -- do you hear me, Jonathan Bailey, coming hard and fast! -- because no sooner had I posted that Oliver Jackson-Cohen photoshoot then did I see a new Jonathan Bailey photoshoot for Interview magazine! But even better -- Jonny is chatting with his Crashing co-star Phoebe Waller-Bridge and listening to the two is just like firecrackers popping off. Speaking of history, I was doing media studies with an amazing teacher and I decided that I was going to do my dissertation about the representations of Hutus and Tutsis and the Rwanda genocide, looking at Hotel Rwanda and Shooting Dogs. And then Brokeback Mountain came out and I was like, “Hang on, how can I possibly create a world where I can go and have a free pass to go to the cinema to watch it 10 times?” I’m really proud of my 17-year-old self, I wasn’t necessarily out, but I changed the topic to representation of homosexuality in Brokeback Mountain and I watched that film 10 times. And this amazing teacher, Dr. Brunton, who probably had an idea of what was going on, was just like, “This is brilliant, keep going, keep going.” And I think it was the best mark I ever got."

Gays supporting gays! You love to see it, especially when they're this hot and Jonny Bailey's popping a bicep like that -- the only good thing in the Wicked movies went to see Luke Evans and his headline-grabbing bulge in the new staging of Rocky Horror this weekend and we were all graced with this perfect moment captured. Huzzah. Anyway even though I could do a whole post for just that picture I have got something else on deck -- Deadline reported this morning that Mr. Bailey will be starring opposite one Natalie Portman in a movie called, ahem, Pumping Black. Is that an actual term that cyclists use? Because it's a movie about cyclists -- Jonny will be playing one who's aging out of the sport who gets taken under the nefarious wing of Portman's character, a doctor who "will stop at nothing" to win. So Pumping Black Swan, basically. Good lord -- I'm sorry, you can't put "pumping" in your movie title no matter what, but especially not with Jonathan Bailey there.  Am I really expected to spend the next, what, year, year and a half, no being sent into a tailspin whenever I think about these things together?? 

Congrats to the Dorian Winners!

The winners of the annual Dorian awards have been announced -- voted on by members of GALECA, an orgination of entertainment critics of the queer sort amongst whom I happily count myself -- and we did okay! I only voted for a couple of the winners but I'm not angry that we gave The Substance a near damned sweep -- that's a lot of fun! This ain't your grandma's queer critic's awards show! Anyway Challengers did well too (winning score and screenplay) and we gave our rising star award to Jonathan Bailey! Jonathan Bailey always gets a rise outta me that's for sure. Whom Did the Critics Choose

This was my first year as a member of the Critics Choice Association but I didn't end up going to the ceremony yesterday -- I'm going to Sundance in four days and I can only take off so much time from my day job unfortunately. Pretty sure I'll do the opposite next year, especially since the second I saw Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer standing together on the red carpet looking like that I regretted every choice I'd made in my life. Oh well - I am sure there will be hot guys there next year for me to drool upon in person. Just you wait, hot guys! Jurassic Jonny

I love this news -- even though it's not technically "news" but just a rumor that I have seen going around -- because it gives me an excuse to post that  photo of Jonathan Bailey showing off some impressive guns while recently working out. Not that we need an excuse. But an excuse makes us feel better about ourselves, and gives us something to actually say instead of whatever lame equivalent of the drool emoji I can conjure up. So! There is a rumor going round that Jonny's role in the new Jurassic World movie (which we already told you about here) will see him playing the adult version of the character of Timmy from the first film. (And the second, the Jurassic nerd in me must point out, where actor Joe Mazzello had a cameo.) 

The funny thing to me is that Bailey is actually slightly too young for the part, since he was only five when the original Jurassic Park came out! Christ that makes me feel ancient. Anyway this rumor also states that Scarlett Johannson, who's also been cast in the new movie, is playing the grown up Lex. We know nothing about the movie's plot yet except that unlike previous films that it's not set in one location, but will film all over the world -- notably one of those locations is the U.K., which is of course where Jurassic Park creator  John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) was from, and Lex and Timmy are his grandkids... I know it's a reach. But I like the idea. And Jonny and ScarJo are good casting for the kids, even if poor Joe Mazzello (who still acts) has to be a little bit annoyed about not getting to return to his most famous role because he didn't grow up to be as hot as Jonathan Bailey. Join the club, Joe! We all exist in Jonny's shadow.

The homosexual television series Fellow Travelers (watch the trailer here) premieres on Paramount+ on this Friday (and then on Sunday on Showtime) and so we're getting some press, thank goodness -- I'm sure they all were running around like busy little bees before the SAG strike and we reap the benefits now, even if the studios continue being putzes. That said I am the biggest putz of all (per usual) because I've had screeners of this show for actual months (yes plural) and not found time to watch it? I don't even know. I been busy y'all but that's no excuse - I found time to watch like eight ridiculously awful horror movies this weekend, you'd think I could've made time for Jonathan Bailey and Matt Bomer getting horned up for each other. When the Groff's A'Knockin...

The good movie news today is that a double dose of hot homosexuals have been cast in M. Night Shyamalan's next movie -- good so far as the "hot homosexuals" part goes; I'm not so sold on Shyamalan these days but we'll take what we can get. The homos of choice are Jonathan Groff and former-Fleabag-ian Ben Aldridge (see our previous posts on Ben here), who are joining Dave Bautista and Rupert Grint in Knock at the Cabin, a thriller which... probably involves a cabin, who knows. M. Night's not saying. There will be knocking? One hopes of the bedpost-against-wall sort with Ben & Jon specifically, but Night's movies are always sexless so I have my doubts on that front. Dare to dream. In related news...

... Ben's Fleabag queen Phoebe Waller-Bridge has set up a new series at Amazon! And like with M. Night's movie we know absolutely nothing about it! But it's great news all the same. She should make it about a throuple played by Ben, Andrew "Hot Priest" Scott, and her Crashing co-star Jonathan Bailey. I know I know they are all very similar looking white gay men but... I'd still want to see that. Who wouldn't want to see that? If you wouldn't want to see that you just hate fun.

Everybody Do the Dinosaur

What, you thought I'd link to my review of the new Jurassic movie with a picture from the movie itself? Hell no! I'm reposting a photo of actor Jonathan Bailey -- see the rest of the shoot here -- because I know what the people want. As cute as he looks in his now branded "slutty little glasses" there's no denying those arms of his. (See also yesterday morning.) And it's kinda sad that the PR campaign for this movie is about to end with it hitting theaters today so let's enjoy this while we got it. Anyway... oh right, my review! Click here to read my Pajiba review of Jurassic World: Rebirth, which is all things considered totally fun. Yes it's a wee bit too cluttered, yes it's too long, and yes its characters do a lot of dumb things to keep the plot moving. I don't care. It's not Jurassic World: Dominion, which was so bad I considered it an assault on me personally, so I left the theater this time around pretty happy and satisfied. Director Gareth Edwards crushes a couple of action scenes, and... did I mention Jonathan Bailey? I really should. Just once.
