Phil Dunster Twelve Times

Because I never watched Ted Lasso all I picture when I see Phil Dunster is him getting pounded by Julian Morris in the miniseries Man in an Orange Shirt back in 2017 -- ahhh sweet sweet memories. I didn't even know who Dunster was when that aired but in the time since I have come, with that newfound recognition, to appreciate the scene even more. Anyway all that is to say that because of that -- and because of this Ted Lasso scene I was very aware of even if I didn't watch the show -- Dunster's always been an ass-first kinda guy for me, and I'm glad to see the photographer for Schön! magazine clearly agreed with me, given the above photo. Make sure to get his good side! Anyway blessedly big-bottomed Phil is on a show called Rooster (the joke's write themselves) now -- anybody watching? The show called Ted Lasso on Apple+ that stars a boisterously moustached Jason Sudeikis is yet another show of the many many shows that have slipped between the cracks for me, so we have a reader to thank for alerting me to this scene from the show's fifth episode, which spends some morning time with the actor Phil Dunster in his itty bitty black briefs. Speaking of slipping through the cracks, am I right?

I am right. Do any of you watch the show? I have heard good things but they are things I hadn't paid much attention to, I will admit -- I honestly didn't even know it was a show about soccer players until this morning, as I made these gifs and discovered that there are also lots of locker-room scenes on the show as well? Should I be watching Ted Lasso? I should, shouldn't I?

Now as for Phil Dunster I didn't recognize his name at first blush but soon discovered he has been mentioned here on MNPP before -- he's the random dude that Julian Morris fucks... excuse me, has enthusiastic homosexual intercourse with... in that half of the miniseries Man in an Orange Shirt, covered thoroughly and I do mean thoroughly right here. And that scene just managed to get hotter, now that we're more familiar with Mr. Dunster. Speaking of... let's all get more familiar with Mr. Dunster after the jump...

Guess I Should Catch Up With Surface

I couldn't find any information whatsoever on that photo of Oliver Jackson-Cohen fully mounting Phil Dunster, but since they're both on the second season of the Apple+ series Surface I'm assuming it has to do with that? I watched the first season of the show it feels like ages ago (and posted about it many times) and yet I keep forgetting the second season dropped -- this image however has smacked that forgetfulness right off my face. Dunster wasn't on the first season but he does have a previous work connection to Olly -- they didn't share scenes but they were both in the 2017 miniseries Man in an Orange Shirt, and they both played gay in it! Oliver was partnered with James McArdle in the WWII-era portion of it, while Dunster got railed by Julian Morris in one of the greatest scenes ever committed to celluloid. That was pre-Ted-Lasso though so at that time I was paying more attention to my boy Julian -- no more though! Now I have room for them both in my.... heart. Anyway I doubt Surface will reach those heights, but it gave us that picture up top and for that we are forever thankful.

My trip out of town was only a couple of days but man alive if it didn't put me monstrously behind on a bunch of work. So yes, even though I announced myself technically "back" two days ago this place has been a real bones-yard all the same with only a couple of brief posts per day as I did some catching up. The good news? I am kind of caught up -- at least with the immediate things, so I will probably post a little bit more today. (Cut to the sky suddenly falling five minutes after I hit post, natch.)

Hard to believe that this is my first time posting any of soccer star Jack Grealish here on the site -- he's certainly someone whose "career" (i.e. photographs of him being hot) I have been following for some time now. Indeed I don't watch soccer nor do I watch that TV show about soccer Ted Lasso, but I'm pretty sure that Grealish was the inspiration, at least visually, for Phil Dunster's character right? And I have posted plenty of Dunster so it's kinda the same thing. Except, well, not really, because...

I've spent a lot of time thinking about that first photo we posted of Phil Dunster a couple of weeks ago, as I am sure was the intent in taking such an obvious, "Hey look at my fat ass" photo, and I've come to the entirely predicatable decision that I need to see Phil Dunster in lots more things. So mission accomplished there, big buns. I guess I should start watching his new show Rooster then! Make it clear to the powers that be that Phil's powers are working. To the maximus. For now, for this Monday morning, we'll make due with this very fine Esquire photoshoot -- very fine, except we don't get to see, you know, the friend we made a couple of weeks ago. Make sure to have it written into your contract that every shoot will include one shot of the backside, Phil! I think I tried to watch one episode of Ted Lasso and wasn't into it, but I know I'm far from the norm on that one -- what a shock! Me bucking the mainstream! I'm such a maverick, y'all. So esoteric and shit. I only drink vintage Tab I buy off eBay -- that's how fucking cool I am. Aaaanyway...

... I've still managed to post about that show's resident hottie Phil Dunster a couple of times anyway, because... well look at him. (These photos are via Behind the Blinds magazine.) I think about those skimpy black briefs he wore once often, and then even before Ted Lasso he got positively plowed on-screen by Julian Morris so of course I was there. Who had dreams about Julian Morris' bum all last night? I did, I did! In other words - Best Night's Sleep Ever. As foretold in the prophecies of yesterday the second half of the BBC's Man in an Orange Shirt series aired last night in the UK and we were there to witness it through the wonders of modern technology. For the rest of you the series airs in the US, last I heard, come June 2018, aka Pride Month, which is fitting. 

And even though I've shown you (some of) the nudity in the first half with Oliver Jackson-Cohen & James McArdle, and even though I am about to show you all of the skin that Julian Morris (and his scene partners, mainly Phil Dunster) flashes in this here second half, I must implore you to watch the series...

... it can be a little goofy and on-the-nose sincere at times, but so can romance be, and Orange Shirt treats gay romance, and gay history, with proper vigor. Jeez, is Ted Lasso actor Phil Dunster's press agent earning their overtime bucks this month or what? This is the third big photo-shoot of him in May -- see the first one here and the second one here -- this time for Man About Town magazine (via). We ain't complaining. He's got a face worth looking at three times in one month -- heck, maybe even twice that! Anyway a heads-up that I've got a half-day today and then we're off on Monday for the holiday, so prepare your bodies. A few weeks back I shared with you a photo of the front view of Noah Centineo shooting his memorable scene in the 2026 film Our Hero Balthazar -- far be it from me to deny us a back view now that it's available. (thx Mac) I still hate the existence of that shirt though. Set that shirt on fire! Bastard shirt! I mean we know you're not shy, Noah. (And that link ain't the half of it.) 

ETA the longer I have stared at this photo today (every time I scroll down the site it catches my eye anew) the more I convinced myself that I needed to face Noah off with Phil Dunster's similarly way too small and tight black briefs in Ted Lasso (seen here) -- it's the battle of the pinched butt-cheeks!
