When I saw that The Last Black Man in San Francisco and Da 4 Bloods actor (slash huge new MNPP crush) Jonathan Majors had a new interview and photoshoot up today at Variety (thx Mac) I promise you that the involuntary sound that came out of me was definitely, most certainly, the same noise that comes out of Homer Simpson whenever he sees a doughnut. I don't know exactly how you spell that sound -- it's kind of a "hngggg" thing -- but you know the sound I mean. That's the one. Jonathan is being interviewed here about Lovecraft Country, HBO's topical "Monsters & Racism" show that's premiering on August 16th -- watch the trailer here -- and besides other choice bits has this to say about his bonding experience with actor Michael K. Williams, who plays his father on the show:
"I’d been traveling to the set this whole time, back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and I was not accustomed to living on the road... I realized early that morning I didn’t have any underwear. Michael walked me into the Levi’s store. He wanted a jacket, and he bought me every pair of boxer briefs in my size. There were about 50 pairs! That started off a beautiful friendship and brotherhood between us."
You guys have no idea how excited I am to find out that the quickest way to Jonathan Majors' heart is through his underwear. That's my specialty! Hit the jump for the rest of this new shoot...
