A24 just shared that the first poster for Uncut Gems, the new movie from the Safdie Brothers whose Good Time was my 8th favorite film of 2017 -- Good Time is why we're excited about Uncut Gems, not its star Adam Sandler, although in Sandler's defense he is quite capable of being excellent when called upon to be excellent. On odd days Punch-drunk Love is my favorite Paul Thomas Anderson movie of them all. (On even days I think it's Phantom Thread now?) Anyway word is Sandler's very good again here, and his co-stars include Lakeith Stanfield so there will be another place to look no matter what. Uncut Gems is in theaters at Christmas.
