Always Make An Entrance

.

Looks like Jake's taking that advice and then some with his introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe via the trailer for Spider-man: Far From Home as the character called Quentin Beck aka Mysterio, a bubble-headed mash-up of "Iron Man and Thor rolled into one" (as the trailer puts it) who has a way with green mist.

(See our previous post on Jake's casting here, and see some pictures of Jake & Tom getting to know each other here.) Can somebody tell me in the comments when this movie is supposed to be set? I'm guessing this happens before the events of the last Avengers movie given YOU KNOW but I don't know, perhaps we're in some parallel universe... you know how comicss roll. Here's the trailer:

This movie is out on July 5th, a few months after Captain Marvel tells us whatever Captain Marvel has to tell us about the direction of the MCU. I refuse to take up too much of my brain with flow-charts for these movies and their timelines and circumstances so I guess we'll see what happens when it happens and then feel way behind by the next movie again because we've already forgotten it all. Maybe I'll just pretend this is an Impossible sequel...

My guess is this happens right before Infinity War. The last scene in Far from Home will be Peter on a school bus going home from the airport when he spots the ship in the air above NYC.

I think it's been confirmed it takes place after Endgame.
