Jack Lowden Eleven Times

.
We all knew Dunkirk was going to re-enter the movie conversation once the year ended and all the woefully befuddled critics started making their lists with Nolan's name on it - despite the film's quite evident crappiness there for all to plainly see - but if I do have to endure those cinematic aneurysms at least with them comes a welcome reminder of all the Hot Twink Action he managed to cram in between his gibberish.

(See also yesterday's tweet on Fionn Whitehead.) (Also see this Gratuitous Billy Howle post from a few months ago.)  Anyway if you like you might hit the jump for a half dozen plus more pictures of Jack Lowden, whose character did at least get the opportunity to wear a life-vest like nobody's business...

Ah, here's that reasoned discourse that I come to the Internet to enjoy.

(Also, thank god someone is out there banging the 'Christopher Nolan is hot garbage' drum.)

I'm so over people calling sex with post-pubescent minors pedophilia. It's either hebephilia or ephebophilia, if you have to give a name to it, and I would say that most adults are guilty of some level of ephebophilic behavior at the very least. And how do you put an exact date on when it's okay and when it's not? So it's okay to lust after Zac Efron on his 18th birthday and sick to do it the day before? Just dumb. My opinion is that we need to jump dump statutory rape laws, but that's coming from my experience as a gay minor who liked older guys, not vice versa (I still like older guys as an older guy). I think you take each situation on its own to determine if some level of inappropriate coercion was involved, just like you do between adults with a power differential. And it just seems silly to me that a 16-year-old is deemed mature enough to get behind the wheel of a car, but not to make his/her own decisions regarding sex. If their brains aren't developed enough to make decisions about sex, I certainly don't want to be sharing the road with them. Maybe we should just lock them in a closet until their brains develop enough to interact with the world.

Anyways, this controversial opinion gets me labeled a pedophile all the time, which is ridiculous because like I said, I like older guys. Or sometimes it's just a simple "I can't believe you endorse sex with minors." But here comes "Call Me By Your Name," and everyone is in love with it. I still haven't seen it, but obviously I'm a proponent of the type of relationship it portrays. Yet I find myself in this weird position of using it to call out people's hypocrisy. "But it shows sex between an adult and a minor! How can you support this?!" At least Anonymous seems consistent in his (her?) condemnation, even though (s)he's obviously an idiot. Don't pull the "flip the gender" argument with me 'cause I have no problem with female sexuality at any age. And I did lose my virginity at the age of 16 to a 32-year-old because I pursued it -- it was a great experience and I'm all the better for it. No harm done. But, yeah, keep railing against those sicko 40-year-olds. Ageist much?

I'm sorry for all the this I have written tonight, Jason. That is you name right, Jason? I got so worked up calling you King of the Pedophiles there for a minute! Anyway I clearly need some mental help, and I'm projecting all of my problems onto you for some reason, probably just because you're there, you make your self available to people you don't know (for some nutty reason!) and nobody else will listen to me. I tend to say some stuff! Ha ha. Anyway sorry for calling you a child rapist and everything just because you liked a movie. I maybe went overboard. Maybe! Who knows!!!! Hahaha!

From those pics, he kinda reminds me of a younger, handsomer Simon Pegg ... he could play Simon's younger brother in a future movie
