This Is The Oscar You Are Looking For

.
We've been following the flow of info on Annihilation, Ex Machina director Alex Garland's new sci-fi horror flick, since Day Uno (nearly a year ago) mostly because what they told us on Day Uno was that the film was going to star Natalie Portman, Tilda Swinton, and Julianne Moore, which is clearly a thing to pay attention to!

That cast is no more though, save Portman who stuck around - the other two were replaced by up-n-comers Tessa Thompson and Gina Rodriguez, which, sure they're nice and all I guess. In all seriousness it's good to give new faces, especially ones of color, a big opportunity like this, so we won't whine about A World Without Tilda too much. (TILDAAAA.)

But things just got big again, as Oscar Isaac's been announced as joining the cast today. He will play Portman's husband who goes missing, in space... presumably leaving an adorable droid around to do his bidding? I guess we'll have to wait and see for the last part.
