Over the weekend a new movie by Jackie and Spencer director Pablo Larraín popped up on Netflix -- turning the story of the Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet into a gothic vampire story by way of Luis Buñuel, El Conde (The Count) is easily going to be one of my 2023 faves. Also -- while I think the film is much more than its style like some are accusing it, the style by cinematography legend Ed Lachman is jaw-dropping and it kinda sucks that most people are going to watch this movie at home on a tiny screen.
