Good Morning, World

No I still haven't watched Prime Video's gay rom-com Red White and Royal Blue yet, so that's why you haven't heard my opinion on it -- I know you've been holding your breath and you should probably stop that. I'll watch it at some point since I probably have to, with my duty as an Official Gay and all (I am a member of the club) but I didn't get assigned to review the thing so I'm taking my time since I'm honestly kind of lightly dreading it.

Anything that I've seen described as "cute" as many times as I've seen this described rings all of my alarm bells, and the trailer for this was indeed excessively "cute." All that said Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez are both hot as the sun and I wanna see them hump each other, so I'll watch the blasted thing at some point - don't worry. Speaking of -- Nicholas Galitzine and Taylor Zakhar Perez, I mean -- yes, that's why we're here. I have made gifs from one of their nude scenes (possibly the only real nudity? I don't know) in the movie. Hit the jump for Taylor Zakhar Perez bum...

It's not the only nudity, but I won't say any more because it'd spoil it.

The movie actually fun (I wasn't expecting much). The opening is very cheesy, but it finds its footing once the boys start kissing and fucking. The excellent chemistry between Taylor (who is so charismatic and stunning) and Nicholas (who has a great bottoming facial expression) really sells it.

if the CW started making Lifetime/Hallmark-style romance movies of the week - this would still be a very weak addition! (and no, I haven't read the book)

There's a lot of bad acting (and one particularly bad accent) in this.

And every time I see Uma Thurman in something these days, I imagine Chloë Sevigny was unavailable.

I have heard about Uma's accent, and that's actually making me want to see it even more than the gay stuff!

Jason, I thoroughly enjoyed it. There's some smart dialogue, some not so up to par acting, and good pacing. The film is above the level of a Hallmark flick. But not by much. I do recommend it.

I thought the acting and the movie was magical. Except Uma Thurman's accent. I live in Texas and I've never heard a worse one. Ever. Taylor Perez is exceptional (as are his eyelashes). This is a great fictional love story with two great looking men.

i dont know much about a texas accent but Uma has a voice and a way o speaking that is unusual in english so i feel like in any accent it would also sound odd. I thought it sounded like texan Uma which im guessing was the assignment so everyone is being a bit dramatic. I noticed Ethan Hawke had a vid out about supporting texas recently and I think we know what to take from that(not that Uma needs his opinion) This film was really fun. They stole a lot from young royals so good for them.
