Callum Scott Howells Seven Times

A happy 22nd birthday to It's a Sin heartbreaker Callum Scott Howells, who was our immediate fave on that limited-run program from Queer as Folk creator Russell T. Davies earlier this year -- I posted a dozen photos of him at the time, but as seen here some new photoshoots have popped up in the months since. I hope we get to see him in more things! IAS is literally his first and only credit as of now, but I'd wager he proved himself worthy of a career with that show. Hit the jump for the rest...

I mean, I guess I should have expected the story arcs of most of the characters based on the theme and time setting of the show, but man his story wrecked me.

His hairy body is too much for me to handle. What a babe.

Back when I had my first HIV test in the latter half of the 80’s, I thought I was going to die and that I had it by virtue of being gay. Meanwhile, my boyfriend and I were monogamous and were each other’s first love, so we had absolutely no exposure. But that was how dreadful the shame was. And you had to go to these makeshift clinics that made the appointment feel sordid. I remember both of us terrified to look into each other’s eyes. But when we finally did, cried tons. So when I watched Callums character dying in the hospital, I saw the person who I thought I was going to be back then. It was a reminder of emotions I had buried under layers. And crying over it all while watching the show, and laughing at the morbid humor was good. As much grief as I have over the subject, what I went through was a fucking drop in the bucket compared to men who perished or knew those who did.

Such a winning combination with this guy -- he has the look, the sweetness, and the humor (I loved him showing off his copy-store keys to his friends -- I get to open the store!). His death wrecked me (as did his lovely mother's role). Hope he enjoys a long, fulsome career!
