All Set For Synonyms

.
In early August when the NYFF line-up was announced I named the Berlin winner Synonyms (from the Israeli director of The Kindergarten Teacher) one of my most anticipated films of the fest -- well NYFF press screenings start in a week and a half and Synonyms is the very first film on the calendar, so my wait just got cut way down, hooray! They're also screening it in Toronto this week, where the following was captured to pique all our curiosities even further:
.
.
That is presumably the film's star Tom Mercier, who is according to the notices about to be everywhere in everything; this is apparently a star turn of the highest order. Mercier plays a former soldier who runs away to Paris to find himself, even though he doesn't speak the language, who finds nothing but sexual confusion and existential crises instead. Anyway I missed that they dropped a trailer for the film a week or so after I made my list of anticipated movies, so now I will share that with you.

Synonyms opens here in New York on October 25th.

He is so completely utterly naked in the film that you have to get over it AND get back into it
