I haven't really been able to figure out why Javier Bardem is on the cover of both the UK edition of Esquire and the German cover of GQ this month - my best guess is that some countries are still getting that flop Pablo Escobar movie of his and he's got the new Asghar Farhadi movie playing some fests. Also I guess he's terribly debonair and sexy, so there's that - I mean it's not like they're putting a shit sandwich on their cover. You're no shit sandwich, Javier! Put that on your tombstone. Anyway you may now hit the jump for the rest of this (the Esquire) photo-shoot...

He's on the cover of various fashion mags because he and Dev Patel are the current model endorsers for Ermenegildo Zegna's new campaign; if you go to www.zegna.com, you'll see fashion spreads and even videos of the two of them walking around Madrid: "Javier Bardem and Dev Patel, old friends reunited for a new adventure in Madrid. Discover the series as Javier, the expert, takes Dev, the tourist, on a unique journey around his Spanish hometown." Am I the only one who wishes that "journey" ends up in some bedroom? ;-)
