When it was announced in June that Jake Gyllenhaal was doing another video-game adaptation after the clunky orange disaster that was Prince of Persia, I maybe scoffed a little bit. Okay, it was scoff central. But maybe I should've looked over at the Oscar-heavy cast of Michael Fassbender's Assassin's Creed for guidance, because it looks like the folks making The Division are not fucking around either -- they've just added Jessica Chastain as Jake's co-star. In my head I like this pairing - they seem like they will pair well, don't they?
Anyway The Division in based on a Tom Clancy game about a siege-type situation in Manhattan after a deadly outbreak of Some Killer Virus. So basically 28 Weeks Later
is what I'm picturing, only with less "Jeremy Renner setting himself on
fire." More movies need Jeremy Renner setting himself on fire, if you
ask me.
