Having made myself privy to an awful lot of Hugh Dancy's filmography - how can I help myself? It's love I tell you! - I don't think I'm making insane assumptions here by sticking the word "gay" into the following bit of news (via):
As in "Dancy will play a GAY friend of Rudd's sister." I have no proof whatsoever to back this up and I certainly could be projecting here - certainly - but Hugh's always such a good gay for a supposedly straight man. Some visual proof:
Sigh. Sigh. Sigh. Actually those are each more of a pant than they are a sigh, really. Hmm, I just realized the name of this blog could be about panting pants, as opposed to trouser pants. Although what a plaid panting pant is I don't know. Am I having a seizure or what? A word seizure. What was I talking about? Oh right Hugh Dancy's giant gay boner for gay junk. Love it. And while I may be projecting some here, I don't think it's an entirely ridiculous assumption to make that a character described as the "friend" of an adult female in this sort of movie would be a gay character. They always cram one in somewhere in this post-My Best Friend's Wedding world we live in. Either that or he'll be all starry-eyed for the sister and they'll end up together in the end, which is also entirely possibly. Either way, he should come make out with me, is my point.

My boyfriend left me for Hugh Dancy. True story. I mean, he didn't know him personally but figured I would never be as good as him.
