House of the Awesome!

Last Friday I whined myself dry about the VHS promo copies of Ti West's delightful horror throw-back The House of the Devil (my review) that were getting distributed to people not named me. Well it turns out I need not whine because Amazon is selling a bundle with the DVD and the VHS copy of the film! Rad! Rad personified! Snatch it up, people, it's supposedly a limited quantity. It's out on Groundhog Day! The same day Lost comes back! Geek nirvana. Anyway now I'm just gonna have to bust my VHS player outta mothballs.

And secondly, in other totally tubular Devil news (the retro movie makes me go retro with my exclamations), via BD comes word of more promo-awesomeness.

We stumbled across a pretty amazing viral marketing campaign (in the "Village Voice") for Dark Sky Films' The House of the Devil, Ti West's 80's period piece arriving on DVD/Blu-ray February 2. While not as cool as the VHS copy of the film we were sent, the company has begun taking out personal ads that read "BABY $ITTER NEEDED.""

That's the ad to the left there, with the phone number. I called and it freaked me out and I hung up! I am king of the wimps. But y'all try and tell me what happens. I got no further than Hi and I am too afraid to call back.
