--- Extended Cell - Looks like Stephen King's
Cell is gonna get made even without Eli Roth attached, only now it's
probably going to be a TV miniseries. There are fewer good examples (
The Stand,
Salem's Lot) of King's books making for good television than there are bad (the list goes on forever but I always immediately think of the eye-gouging awfulness of
The Langoliers when this comes up) so who knows how this one will end up. The book itself is deeply hit-and-miss. But hey, the main character's a gay! That's something, I guess.
--- An Epileptic Fish - There are of course loads upon loads (excuse the unfortunate pun there) of bad sex scenes in movies, and
Cinematical made a list giving props to seven. Yes,
Showgirls is included. As is Willem Dafoe's sex with Madonna in
Body of Evidence which...
---Speaking Of - You can watch the supposedly disturbing sex scene between Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg from Lars von Trier's
Antichrist online
over at BD, I guess. I am not going to watch it, I'm waiting for the movie. But I don't like ever thinking about Dafoe being sexy to be honest. Creepy, hells yeah, love to. Sexy, nope never not ever no.
--- Best Review Ever - Y'all need to check out
Arbogast's review of Marcus Nispel's
Friday the 13th... he sums it up better and more succinctly than anybody yet. Plus, just like the movie, you get lots of enormous fake hooters, which might be your thing, too. (Weirdo)
--- Give Daybreak A Break -
io9 links to a long article stating that
Battlestar Galactica had the worst finale of any science fiction ever. Hrm. I haven't read
the linked-to-article yet, but I'm tempted to call bullshit. Fannish over-analyzed nitpicking.
--- Attack The Mayor With Hummus - I'm a lousy Buffy fan, for not knowing of this anniversary, thankfully
Low Resolution's there to give it its due - yesterday was the 10 year anniversary of the airing of the delayed third season finale, "Graduation Day: Part 2." I didn't even start watching Buffy until the fifth season so I missed out on what must've been torment, waiting to see if they'd ever air the episode (it got delayed because of Columbine, which Joe explains thoroughly).
