Quote of the Day

"We've got nine pages so far. Every time I'm with my brother Ivan, we write another page of it. It's in Detroit and in my garage."

That's Mr. Sam Raimi talking about the script for Evil Dead 4 (via). Can somebody lock he and his brother up together if that's the only time when it's getting worked on? Do they only see each other for five minutes on holidays? Because my patience? Snapped. Decayed. Petrified.

Raimi goes on to say of what they've got written so far:

"There's some dialogue. Ash being an idiot. Ash taking some abuse. Some character stuff and then some structure of Act Two. Just other possibilities for things that could happen. It's ideas, jokes, things we'd like to see."

Dialogue, check! Structure, check! Jokes, check! Idiocy, check! All they need is three thousand gallons of pus and they've got their movie!

When I went to see the first one (I think) in the theater, it was rated X and there were only a handful of people. The scene where the tree rapes the girl so freaked me out or scared me or something, I left.

I went back the next day to see the rest. As I was buying the ticket, the lady asked if I knew that the movie had been running for a while already, when I explained that I had left early the day before and wanted to see the rest, she let me in for free. I still don't like that scene.

I first saw it at a drive-in in the rain double-billed with Dawn of the Dead. Now that was fun!

I am so jealous of you both. I wish I'd gotten to see it in the theater. Dammit!
