Of Course!

I've been half-heartedly wracking my brains ever since posting this morning on Shia LaBeouf possibly starring in a Y: The Last Man movie as to who I thought would make for a better Yorick Brown... I hadn't come up with anything (I was also mostly busy starring at pictures of Michael Schoeffling all afternoon, so I should be forgiven) though.

But somebody else did for me! In the comments of this post at io9 discussing the same article, somebody called it:

Joseph Gordon-Levitt is Yorick Brown, y'all.

Knowing Shia will probably get the role instead annoys me even more now. I don't really have anything against Shia, mind you - he's entertaining enough - and he might be okay in the role... it's just JGL would make for PERFECT casting. Perfect.

So I'm already set to be let down. Not a good place to start.

Hmmm...I know not of this 'Y: The Last Man' that you speak of. What am I missing out on here?

It's a really terrific comic series by Brian K. Vaughn. Well worth reading; he's finished it and the whole thing is out in paperback (it's a lot, though - 10 volumes). Really great stuff, though. You can read more about it here, if you want to semi-spoil yourself...

I'm still waiting for a Transmetropolitan adaptation. Though that might be more fun as a cable series...
