TV News

--- Edward James Olmos knows best - after he stated a few weeks ago that this upcoming fourth season of Battlestar Galactica would be it's last there was confusion over whether he was right or not, but today showrunner Ronald Moore confirmed that yup, BSG's done next year. Sayeth Moore and David Eick in a joint statement:

"This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end," producers said. "Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we've decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms."

Strangely I'm not all worked up over this; it's the same as it was with Lost's announcement of their end in three seasons. I don't mind it if the producers and writers are given the chance to their their storyline through to what they see as the end. It's when something is slaughtered in cold blood like Veronica Mars that I get angry.

--- And speaking of VM, rumors are swirling that Rob Thomas, Veronica's mastermind, has been offered the reins to the new Judy Greer ABC comedy Miss/Guided, and I must second Thomas' noncomittal appraisal: I too heart Judy Greer. She's a seriously underused Comic-FTBRW (force to be reckoned with) and I get a lil' giddy thinking what Thomas could do with her.

But that possible giddiness is of course overturned by the thought of Veronica ever coming back...

--- Vampire PI's are his speciality - I had no interest in seeing the "new" CBS series Moonlight when I read it was about a vampire who was also a private detective because... HELLO? Already watched that show religiously and it was raped and snuffed and thrown into the gutter cruelly a couple years ago. But then the news comes today that one of the raped snuffees, David Greenwalt, who co-created and ran Angel (and also worked on Buffy) has been hired to run Moonlight and now... well maybe now I'll give it a chance. Maybe Greenwalt can slowly just replace his new actors with the actors from Angel and when nobody at the network's looking turn the show into Angel 2.0. Amy Acker's phone had best be ringing.

The world would be a better place if Amy Acker was in every movie.
