So I have a Today's Mood to share that I discovered last night.
From: Reflections In A Golden Eye
Elizabeth Taylor:
"Cutting off her nipples with a pair of garden shears. You call that normal?! My God! Garden shears?!"
Refections In A Golden Eye has been on my list for years. I was mesmerized by it even as I laughed at it. Have you seen it? It's such a weird period piece. It was released in 1967 and the subtext is SO heavy because they couldn't say Marlon Brando's character was gay, they just made it as heavy handed as possible. And slow! Even the credits are slow. If they had made it five years later in 1973 or so they could have gotten away with much more. But Taylor was brillant. When she was focused she a really great actress. Brando was getting older but still beautiful in certain shots. And the film has everything. Ass picnics, men in the army, whippings, naked horse riding and unforgetable lines.
Oh I just remebered another line!
"Have you ever been tied up and dragged out into the street and whipped by a naked woman?"

(Me personally? No. But I'd give it my best boy scout effort.)

I don't think I've even ever heard of RIAGE (that's a great acronym, btw), but it sounds FANTASTIC and I have to see it right away. Thanks for the info, Christopher! Off to my queue I go!
You must be in a VERY good mood today if it's reminiscent of having a youn Tim Robbins tied to your bed.
Mmmm young Tim Robbins. I had such a crush on him in this when I was a kid.
