A Day Of Mourning

.
Well I guess it's official if it's on the front page of Yahoo!:

"The CW cancels `Veronica Mars'

NEW YORK - The CW network canceled the cult hit "Veronica Mars" and will try to pick up steam in its second year with series about the snobby rich, transplanted families and a bounty hunter for the devil.

The network, created out of the ashes of the former WB and UPN, had already ended the long-running family dramas "7th Heaven" and "Gilmore Girls." On Thursday the ax fell on "Veronica Mars," which starred Kristen Bell as a wisecracking teenage private eye...."

Bastards.

I am so fucking pissed off.
That angry letter is turning into an ENRAGED letter. The CW has said that they want to be hip and fresh? ISN'T VERONICA MARS HIP AND FRESH? They are idiots. Especially Ms. Ostroff. While there might be hope before June 15 *rolls eyes*, Ms. Ostroff will be getting an evil letter sent to her.

Taking away Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars in the same season? Vicious, evil network (that I also have no more use for).

I think the gravity of this situation finally just hit me. It's over? It's over. We will NEVER know what happens to Veronica and Mac and the gang. NEVER.

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

I'm a mess right now, just excuse me.

I am so sorry for your loss JA. I may not have known her personally, but the shock and sadness is all the same. May your grief be as quick as possible, as to all, and let the combined crys of all the blogosphere be over soon. She was good though.

["taps" plays; seven shots are fired]

Here is something that might make you feel better.

(I can't fcuking believe they renewed "One Tree Hill" though. WTF?)

I just sent an e-mail to the CW. Hopefully they read it. I think I made them feel really bad about themselves :)

Christ. This is depressing, really. Like truly.

God, I hope at least we get a killer series finale. This show deserves it.

At least it lasted a year longer than the show's grandfather, Twin Peaks (y'all know they're linked).

I'll admit...I've never seen Veronica Mars. YET. I do have the first season on DVD because people that love all the other shows I watch have told me it's good. So I trust them, and you! :) Just haven't had a chance yet. But I definitely plan to catch it. Sucks that it got cancelled though. ALTHOUGH...I keep reading, especially this morning, that the "Veronica FBI" show, or some other type of spinoffy series, may not be entirely off the map yet. So who knows. :)

KC- Well I've stayed free of spoilers with regards to the finale, but I've heard 2 things: one, it kicks ass, and two, it was not intended to be a series finale so it'll probably end with a freaking cliffhanger or something. Argh. I may riot.

nel - the 1st season is AMAZING, perfection. And I loved the 2nd season too, but feel as if it might play even better if watched in big chunks insttead of spread out like they aired the episodes, because the 2nd season mystery is SUPER dense and complicated and I kept losing little important details that were important between airings.

The 3rd season has been, I will admit, a bit of a mess, but it's the CW's stupid fault because they just couldn't stop sticking their grubby paws into what was working and trying to make it appeal to a huge audience when it's the definition of a cult show. In all honesty I've been bored pretty senseless by the past couple of new episodes since they ditched any longterm mystery. But I really do have very high hopes for the final two episodes airing on Tuesday; I don't think Rob M will let us down here at the end.

Sigh. The end. Gonna cry now.
