--- A Throne For Him- Sean is storming the castle! Not only is my pal writing
recaps and articles on HBO's
A Game of Thrones for Rolling Stone as we
learned last week, but he's also
doing video recaps for MTV News. I can't think of a more deserving dude - he knows his shit, y'all. This will be fun and informative! And I can't wait to read slash watch all of this, but I haven't watched the second season premiere yet (tonight, I hope) so nobody say nothing!
--- Hard Candy Cannibal -
David Slade, the director of
Hard Candy and
30 Days of Night, is going to direct the pilot episode of
Hannibal, the new series by Bryan Fuller of
Pushing Daisies brilliance based on Thomas Harris' Hannibal Lecter books (mainly
Red Dragon). I guess Slade recently directed the well-reviewed pilot for Awake with Jason Isaacs. (Has anybody watched that show? I keep meaning to, I love me some Jason Isaacs.)
--- Hot Buggery - The President of Marvel
says that the Ant-Man movie from Edgar Wright is "the closest it's ever been" to happening. I've always assumed that in all honesty it's never been anywhere near close to happening though, so that quote doesn't exactly fill me with elan.
--- Plushie Pals - I haven't watched this yet but the redband trailer for
Ted, the foulmouthed teddy bear movie from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, is
up over at Slash. Perhaps more importantly Mark Wahlberg was spotted running around without a bra on those enormous knockers of his recently. See more pictures
here.
--- Blacker Women - The terrific lil' Danny Radcliffe boo-machine that was
The Woman in Black is
going to get a sequel. It'll be called
Angels in Black and it'll be written by Susan Hill, the woman who wrote
the 1983 book that the movie was based on. It will take place 40 years later, making that mid-last Century.
--- Red Lady - Glenn gathers together
some thoughts and recent links on artist and awesome costume designer Eiko Ishioka, including a look at the poster she designed for
Apocalypse Now that grabbed Francis Ford Coppola's eye back in the day, getting her the
Dracula gig. I'd never seen it; it's lovely.
--- Blood Season - Correct me if I am mistaken but I don't think there's a single glimpse of Christopher Meloni in
the first teaser trailer for True Blood's fifth season, which makes me sad. Shirtless Ryan Kwanten and Alexander Skarsgard quickly stomps on that sadness though.
--- Which Warren - I think I forgot to link to this last week - on Warren Beatty's birthday on Friday I did a "Which Is Hotter?" post for him
over at The Film Experience. The answer is "All of the above" of course.
