Fassy Kennedy

.

Fernando Meirelles, the director of City of God and Blindness and The Constant Gardener, is making a movie based on the book Nemesis: The True Story of Aristotle Onassis, Jackie O, and the Love Triangle That Brought Down the Kennedys, which is about exactly what that excessively long title says it is about. Apparently Bobby Kennedy hated Onassis or something. Anyway Meirelles tweeted his desire the other day for Michael Fassbender to play Bobby (via). Whether that was kidding or wishful thinking or just another expression of the current all-consuming lust for constant Fassbender which we are all infected with, there it is. So?

That last option was just an excuse to post this pic of JFK Jr.

... to not like musicals, I sure am excited about seeing Damsels in Distress tonight. Not that it's a musical per se. But the thought of Greta Gerwig and Adam Brody dancing around is totally exciting to me! It is specifically the dancing parts that I'm most looking forward to. Which is really weird.

... Castaway with Robert Pattinson.

(via) I don't know if it's the fact that I've watched the teaser trailer for David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis at least twenty times now and my bones are rattling right outta my skin with anticipation for it (I also started the book last night and I'm only twenty pages in but damn, Don Delillo can write a sentence) or if it's the fact that RPattz's beard situation looks remarkably similar to my own right now so I'm feeling some sense of solidarity with my brother in fuzz (also aiding the solidarity cause - his paunch and the fact that I love stand-up paddleboarding), but I am entirely prepared to love Robert Pattinson as of this minute. I know it's easier for me since I've avoided the Twilight movies entirely and so I don't have as many hurdles to leap over to remain accepting of his (or Kristen Stewart's, for that matter) celebrity and continued working-actor status. But goshdarnit, I like him. Now come to papa, Cosmopolis! See more after the jump...

--- America's Most Wanted - Turns out that picture of Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth that amused me so yesterday was actually from this AICN report from the set The Avengers, and there are a lot more great pictures to behold if you click over. I especially like the one where it seems as if Clark Gregg is just going to sit right down on Chris Evans' lap, because I can totally understand that temptation. There's also a wicked cool shot of Loki, and that attractive shot of Mr. Evans in his costume seen here.

--- The Fall Guy - The one classic slasher franchise from the 80s that Michael bay's shit-house production studio Platinum Dunes hadn't ruined yet was Halloween - Rob Zombie did all the ruining on his own, thank you very much - so the word that PD has their hands on the Halloween property for an all new reboot at first fills me with dread - will they find a way to stuff Michael Myers into underground tunnels like they did Jason Voorhees? - but if they can just make a damned straightforward movie out of it maybe I can cut them some slack. I don't have any reason to believe they will, but in theory I am fine with Mike getting rebooted, because Zombie got too caught up in backstory. Just drop the dude in a town full of babysitters and hit play.

--- Cold Cavill - There are some new pictures of Henry Cavill and Co. in his upcoming thriller The Cold Light of Day with Sigourney Weaver and Bruce Willis at this link. An excuse to look at Henry Cavill is always welcome, even if he does remain fully clothed throughout. Bonus Siggy with a gun!

--- Rear Projection - I haven't even watched this single shot edit of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window but I can already tell just from a single frame of it that I adore it, I adore it, I adore it. What a brilliant idea.

--- Unchained Melody - The first look at Christoph Waltz on the set of Quentin Tarantinto's Django Unchained is over at this site, and he looks promisingly dickish. I have to say it disheartens me to see the film is just shooting - I really was hoping he was secretly done with it and it would be out like next week, surprise! I know, that's not how QT works, he'll shoot a five hour movie and we won't see an edited version for like three years, but a boy can dream.

--- Alphabet Killers - The poster for The ABCs of Death, the anthology horror film where a different director takes on a letter of the alphabet and explores a death situation thereby related - say, A is for Asphyxiation, and so on - can be seen over at BD. I feel like it's almost there but need to be slightly slicker, maybe? I like the idea. Anyway there are several awesome directors doing shorts for this thing - Ti West and Ben "Kill List" Wheatley, for starters - so I'm psyched all the same.

Way To Grab My Attention, Magic City

.

If you don't have the money for advertising these days, I think the new Starz series Magic City has got it figured out - get your leading men out of their clothes and maybe have them suggestively touch each other a little bit and voila! The internet will do the work for you.

I hadn't even heard of this show until now, but giving me Steven Strait in a pair of blessedly teensy trunks getting his leg patted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan? That ensures I hear about you.

See a few more pictures after the jump, including a look at Jeffrey Dean Morgan's shapely just shy of forty-six year old buttocks.

... makin' his behind move, is what I'm inclined to.

(via) Come on, Marky, swing it! Cah-come on, swing it! Ahem. Excuse that Funky Bunch intrusion. While it's awesome, obviously, to see that he still fills out a pair of boxer briefs just fine, what's with Mark Wahlberg this past week? I already linked to some pics earlier, but now there's more - he's been romping around half-clothed every single day for the paps. I guess he decided he wanted some attention... and far be it from me to dissuade him. If you hit the jump you can see a lil' collection I done gone and gathered up.

I Am Link

.
--- A Throne For Him- Sean is storming the castle! Not only is my pal writing recaps and articles on HBO's A Game of Thrones for Rolling Stone as we learned last week, but he's also doing video recaps for MTV News. I can't think of a more deserving dude - he knows his shit, y'all. This will be fun and informative! And I can't wait to read slash watch all of this, but I haven't watched the second season premiere yet (tonight, I hope) so nobody say nothing!

--- Hard Candy Cannibal - David Slade, the director of Hard Candy and 30 Days of Night, is going to direct the pilot episode of Hannibal, the new series by Bryan Fuller of Pushing Daisies brilliance based on Thomas Harris' Hannibal Lecter books (mainly Red Dragon). I guess Slade recently directed the well-reviewed pilot for Awake with Jason Isaacs. (Has anybody watched that show? I keep meaning to, I love me some Jason Isaacs.)

--- Hot Buggery - The President of Marvel says that the Ant-Man movie from Edgar Wright is "the closest it's ever been" to happening. I've always assumed that in all honesty it's never been anywhere near close to happening though, so that quote doesn't exactly fill me with elan.

--- Plushie Pals - I haven't watched this yet but the redband trailer for Ted, the foulmouthed teddy bear movie from Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis, is up over at Slash. Perhaps more importantly Mark Wahlberg was spotted running around without a bra on those enormous knockers of his recently. See more pictures here.

--- Blacker Women - The terrific lil' Danny Radcliffe boo-machine that was The Woman in Black is going to get a sequel. It'll be called Angels in Black and it'll be written by Susan Hill, the woman who wrote the 1983 book that the movie was based on. It will take place 40 years later, making that mid-last Century.

--- Red Lady - Glenn gathers together some thoughts and recent links on artist and awesome costume designer Eiko Ishioka, including a look at the poster she designed for Apocalypse Now that grabbed Francis Ford Coppola's eye back in the day, getting her the Dracula gig. I'd never seen it; it's lovely.

--- Blood Season - Correct me if I am mistaken but I don't think there's a single glimpse of Christopher Meloni in the first teaser trailer for True Blood's fifth season, which makes me sad. Shirtless Ryan Kwanten and Alexander Skarsgard quickly stomps on that sadness though.

--- Which Warren - I think I forgot to link to this last week - on Warren Beatty's birthday on Friday I did a "Which Is Hotter?" post for him over at The Film Experience. The answer is "All of the above" of course.

... Chris Meloni: cop or criminal?
.
.

A happy 51st birthday to Mr. Meloni today. I think most of you will agree with me that there's really not much of a contest here - who hasn't wanted to have their neck snapped with Meloni cock in their mouth at one time or another? - but perhaps some of you will opt for the good guy. The good guy's given up some skin too...

And truth be told I'm holding out (probably impossible and futile) hopes that his role on True Blood this Summer will just blow everything else out of the water. All that would take is... say, for five seconds of him and Alexander Skarsgard making out. That's all I'm asking for. I mean... okay, that's not really true but I'll take that. I'm asking for a lot more, really. A Skarsgard Meloni Manganiello threeway oughta do it? Yeah that sounds right. Happy day, Meloni!

Good Morning, Michael

It's Michael Fassbender's 35th birthday today! Perhaps you have noticed, we kind of like this chap. Click on through the archives to see how much we like him. (And as with everything Fassy, the proof is looooong. Gratuitously extensive. And not safe for work.) You should also head over to FF today where Simone's unveiled the awesome gift they sent to Michael for his birthday, and introduced Fassy History Month, which ought to bringing goodness all April long. Viva Fassy!
