The last time John Waters wrangled with Chucky (in 2004's Seed of Chucky) he got a bottle of acid in the face for his trouble -- and sidenote I cannot believe it took me twenty years, twenty full years, to connect that scene to the scene in Female Trouble where Aunt Ida throws acid in Dawn Davenport's face?
What kind of a John Waters fan am I anyway??? For real though my bf and I quote that line at each other at least once a week. Minds out of the gutter. Anyway today comes the amazing word that John Waters is returning to Chucky-land for the series! Obviously not playing the tabloid photographer he played in Seed, since that character was very clearly dead the last time we saw him (although this show has done weirder stuff to be honest). No he's going to play an even choicer role in the second half of the show's third season -- he's going to play the inventor of the Good Guy dolls! No more word on it than that but that's plenty. I just hope they throw acid in his face again. Just keep doing that gag over and over and I will laugh every goddamned time. Especially now that I get it as a reference. Maybe have Chucky say Aunt Ida's line for good measure.
