FDot said...: This took some hunting. It looked like the sign in the last picture read "Royal Rose Pension". A search on that lead to the author Marc Lovell. Searching those two terms lead to the book "Apple Spy in the Sky", whose cover looks like the first picture. That book was adapted in 1987 into the movie "The Trouble with Spies".
