Good Morning, Gay Cowboys

A short trailer for a short film but in no way short of excitement -- we have been gifted with the first tease of Pedro Almodovar's gay cowboy movie Strange Way of Life this morning! Starring Ethan Hawke and Pedro Pascal as the second sadder more grizzled half of Brokeback Mountain and then some hot young actors who (besides Manu Rios) I don't know the names of as the first sexier half...

... this movie, although only thirty-ish minutes long I think, appears to be Something. A lot of Something! Here is the plot description:

"A man rides a horse across the desert that separates him from Bitter Creek. He comes to visit Sheriff Jake. Twenty-five years earlier, both the sheriff and Silva, the rancher who rides out to meet him, worked together as hired gunmen. Silva visits him with the excuse of reuniting with his friend from his youth, and they do indeed celebrate their meeting, but the next morning Sheriff Jake tells him that the reason for his trip is not to go down the memory lane of their old friendship...."

It premieres at Cannes next month and then I guess we'll see from there? There is a little more info (as in quotes from Pedro) over at IndieWire; otherwise just watch the trailer here:



ETA after some research it appears that the actors playing the younger gay cowboys are José Condessa and Jason Fernández, and the latter was kind enough to share some shots from the film shoot on his Insta which I haven't seen before! And if I haven't seen them then I am guessing that you haven't seen them, because I been paying attention real close. Anyway hit the jump for the photos which are howdy-doo real promising...
