All Hail Saint Tilda

I saw several very very good movies at the New York Film Festival this past month but I don't know if any of them were as perfectly satisfying to me as was Joanna Hogg's The Eternal Daughter starring Tilda Swinton, which scratched an itch I had no idea I had beforehand and which did so with pitch perfect technique. It's like a lover who knows exactly how to rub your belly to make you feel just right -- that's what this movie felt like for me. My review of the film is up today at Pajiba, click on over to read it. Tilda forever, baby. A24 will be releasing this in December and there's something weirdly perfect about that to me -- it's technically a ghost story but it's one that feels more like A Christmas Carol; that kind of ghost story. Anyway I adore it. It's my favorite Joanna Hogg movie to date.
