Well this is weird -- a happy birthday to the actor Robert Rusler today! It's not weird that it's his birthday -- it's weird because I was just looking Rusler up a bunch last night, when I mistook another actor for him. And once you start thinking about Robert Rusler in the 1980s you kinda can't stop.

You know what I mean, wink nudge et cetera. Anyway Rusler still works (and still looks great) but he had a real hot streak there in the early to mid-80s (and I mean that in both senses) -- there was this the gayest Nightmare film, there was Vamp...

And I was going to say that all sounded super gay to me "except" Thrashin' -- then I saw all the mascara he's wearing in Thrashin' and yeah, that's a totally gay filmography. I mean Weird Science might be all about Kelly LeBrock in half-shirts to those my age who appreciated such things, but Weird Science is all about raging sublimated homo-erotica for the rest of us...
