Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

The Worst Person in the World (2021)

Aksel: I always worried something would go wrong, but
the things that went wrong were never what I worried about.

A very happy 48th birthday to the supremely talented (not to mention handsome, see down below) director Joachim Trier, fresh off a new classic with this film here. Have you managed to see it yet? I have no concept of when it got a release and where but I'm fairly certain it's making the rounds now. As many shitty decisions as the Oscars made (ongoing -- continually make) I was very happy that TWPITW got nods for Best International Feature and Best Original Screenplay. (It earned it with the speech that Anders Danielson Lie gives at the picnic table alone, which is what the above quote is taken from, but there's not a single unwise choice made from film's start to finish.) And also I hope Joachim is ignoring every single offer from U.S. studios and just keeping on with his own perfect thing.
