Today I'd rather be...
... giving Jake the ol' sniff test.
I knew there was something my brain had been trying to remind me of for the past couple of weeks after Jake gave that interview where he talked about not showering so much and everybody made fun of him -- it was this legendary 2003 photoshoot for Dazed & Confused magazine by the photographer Rankin... and how utterly and exquisitely perfect that the photographer to focus in on Jake's armpits, now imagined to be some stinky ones (and do note that nobody here is complaining), should be called Rankin.
Rank, in...deed! Anyway I'd really been in a Vintage Jake mood this past week (see also this tweet) and I kinda fell down a Jake hole (heh) once I recalled this photoshoot, which the kind people at IHJM were kind enough to have long ago catalogued (I don't know what I will do if IHJM ever closes down; they've been at this as long as I have), and I figured why shouldn't we all stuff ourselves into this same Jake hole?
