Today I'd rather be...
... Andrew Scott's disco fever.
"For me it's always Strangers on a Train that I thought of when I saw her. She's charming in Stage Fright but Strangers was the best role she had... It is too bad she didn't act more since she had a sure comic touch. But she can't be faulted for choosing to concentrate on raising her family, especially since she was always so willing to share her memories of her parents at any time.."--- That's reader Joel memorializing an MNPP Forever Fave with the death of Patricia Hitchcock, daughter to Alfred & Alma and an always welcome screen-presence that we totally adored. I love this guy so much. He's on the 'How to Fail' podcast, talks about his Grindr profile (or maybe it was Tinder?) Very, very funny podcast.
Wish they had used him more in 'Sherlock'. The episode of 'Fleabag' where he talks about how foxes are always after him is hysterical.
I haven't watched second season of 'His Dark Materials' yet-has anyone? Is it good?
I did, I did! I actually thought the second season was a big improvement over the first one, but it's still only a great show whenever Ruth Wilson is on-screen. But the last couple of episodes are very good and have me excited for the third season. The kid they have playing Will seems a bit green though. There isn't a ton of Andrew Scott to be had, but it's of course always a pleasure.
Jason, thank you for your observation about Dark Materials. I've been resisting starting it since I didn't watch the first season, but was considering it because of Scott as I too a big fan. I think I'll pass on Materials and wait for Scott in Ripley. Did you know there is a Facebook fan page for Scott? It's got quite a lot of material...er none of it dark. :)
