And a happy 57th birthday to Brad Pitt today!
Quick: what's his best performance?
Tell me in the comments...
"For me it's always Strangers on a Train that I thought of when I saw her. She's charming in Stage Fright but Strangers was the best role she had... It is too bad she didn't act more since she had a sure comic touch. But she can't be faulted for choosing to concentrate on raising her family, especially since she was always so willing to share her memories of her parents at any time.."--- That's reader Joel memorializing an MNPP Forever Fave with the death of Patricia Hitchcock, daughter to Alfred & Alma and an always welcome screen-presence that we totally adored. I liked him in *A River Runs Through It*. His delivery of the line, "Oh, brother, I'll never leave Montana" is classic
Moneyball was his best performance IMO. Loved him in Thelma and Louise too, but not because of his acting ;)
I'd agree that Moneyball is his best performance but I'd also say that Ocean's Eleven is where is the most at home on screen and the most Movie Star without seeming that way.
Snatch, Fight Club, Moneyball, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford - and he was actually very funny in the Coen brother's Burn After Reading.
Thelma and Louise
Deffo "Once Upon A Time In Hollywood" ..... just superb!
Moneyball, hands down.
His most unforgettable moment to me though, is the tragically ironic smile/starting-to-speak expression he flashed right when he was shot in Burn After Reading. That shocking split second, Pitt packed it with so much, it just reverberated long after it was over.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Always knew he was pretty good; this movie proved he's great.
Well for me, I grew up watching Interview With the Vampire. So that's probably one of my favorite roles of his.
