"For me it's always Strangers on a Train that I thought of when I saw her. She's charming in Stage Fright but Strangers was the best role she had... It is too bad she didn't act more since she had a sure comic touch. But she can't be faulted for choosing to concentrate on raising her family, especially since she was always so willing to share her memories of her parents at any time.."--- That's reader Joel memorializing an MNPP Forever Fave with the death of Patricia Hitchcock, daughter to Alfred & Alma and an always welcome screen-presence that we totally adored. Is it Uncle Frank?
YES Uncle Frank is the movie -- good work, Kevin :)
Yes, definitely Uncle Frank. When Frank's mother says to him, "He loved you," I was like, "Really???"
Your screen shots make the movie look like a thriller. I just watched this film. It was such a missed opportunity. A great Paul Bettany performance stuck in a completely abbreviated story.
Shawny -- Agree on all counts, esp Bettany, but I also thought Sophia Lillis was terrific too. Should've been a better movie, they missed the mark on several counts. But Bettany was very good.
Loved all the actors, hated the movie. Queer trauma once again and the end wants the gays to kiss and make up. The great Lois Smith's awful aunt at the end telling him he's going to hell and Frank just lovingly holds her hand and says "I know that's the best you can do". Whatever!!! I'd have more respect for Frank if he had said "and fuck you ya cunt"
I was loving the first half! But it went downhill fast. It turned into such a horrid gay cliche tragedy and then quickly rushed towards an unbelievable silly “happy” ending. Very disappointing because it had a lot of potential and a great cast.
