I'm Thinking of Staycationing Things

Okay that's a wrap on all that until Labor Day 2020 is in the rear view -- I'll be back to a'bloggin' come Tuesday I guess? Yeah, Tuesday. I have no plans because having plans in the middle of a pandemic is for assholes -- I will be watching movies, maybe going to a museum or the park and Instagramming pictures of trees or paintings, and otherwise just being really lazy and eating a lot. Hooray! That's all I really need from life.

I do want to remind everyone, for the third time today haha ahhhhhh, that Charlie Kaufamn's new movie I'm Thinking of Ending Things will be on Netflix, and you should watch it. Here is my review, which will definitely make way more sense after you see the movie. I fully expect fully two-thirds of you will hate the movie and probably hate me for making you watch it. It's possible. It's not an easy movie. I don't care! Suck it up! And have a good holiday, bye!

Where I live it won’t be released until 3am. Do I dare wait up? I think I might try....

I read the book and it pissed me off more than anything I've read in decades.

As much as I loved Toni Colette, this movie was god-awful. It was like reading someone's thesis entitled "Toward the Development of a Praxis of Metaphor in Late 19th Century Poetry of Human Alienation" - by midpoint I wanted to rip my eyes out and by the end I was begging for it to end.
