Before I start this post properly a heads-up that I just managed to slice open not one but both of the tips of my pointer fingers while using a tape dispenser of all things, and the act of typing -- as in what I am doing right now to put letters onto this page -- has become nightmarish thanks to my hunt-n-peckers being club-like with bandage. There will be typos, and this will take me twice as long, so I am probably not going to be as ornate with the verbiage as you've so come to admire. Anyway! The trailer for Kenneth Branagh's new all-star murder-mystery Death on the Nile movie has arrived! And there is a lot...
.. of Armie Hammer with a mustache, and...
... Armie Hammer crawling around
in an expensive suit, so I'm sold.
Here's the trailer:
DATN is set to come out on October 23rd.

Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders in a big Hollywood movie and they appear together on screen, that’s crazy exciting!
Ok, now I will see it, but only for Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders. I thought the Branagh Murder on the Orient Express was so mediocre, and he has an ego as big as Trump's! No one can play Poirot like David Suchet, although the production of The ABC Murders with John Malkovich is quite good and it brings in some of Poirot's Catholic past. I can wait for this on disc or Prime.
Cannot wait. Branagh did a pretty good job with MOTOE, and this looks better. (DOTN is also, in my minority opinion, a superior book to MOTOE, so I expect the film to be better as well).
The only thing missing is Maggie Smith and Bette Davis bitching at each other, which was a highlight of the 70s version.
Hmmm, I'm intrigued, but like ferretrick, I too will miss Bette Davis' and Maggie Smith's mutual annoyance society in the original. That was hilarious!
Another thing: this is a remake twofer year for Armie Hammer. If this, and his other second-version Rebecca turn out to be good, could they spark a career renaissance for him?
"Armie Hammer in an expensive suit, so I'm sold"
they are even gonna sold to us also a remake of Rebecca thanks to this. A well working concept.
