Goose Gone Wild!

.
The neon-drenched noir The Wild Goose Lake from Chinese director Diao Yinan is a movie I've talked several times about here and abroad because 1) it is terrific and I love it, and 2) I said all of that in my review out of the New York Film Festival last year, a review which insanely managed to end up getting quoted on the movie's poster, in the movie's trailer, and now, today I find out, on the movie's blu-ray, seen above. These are all firsts for me, so excuse my lunatic raving -- I am excited!

The film, which stars Hu Ge (more of him here) as a small-time mafioso in the Wuhan district who finds himself on the run from all the cops and all the criminals (it's reminiscent of Fritz's Lang's M just without the molesty child-murder angle), is hitting blu-ray and DVD on July 21st! They've got some cool sounding special features attached including a short film from Renkai Tan, some interviews with the film's stars (including actress Gwei Lun Mei gives my favorite performance in the film), and a behind-the-scenes featurette. Plus the movie, which rules. Watch the trailer here.
