Everything You Ever Need To Know About Life...

... you can learn from:

Nathan: I'm still going out though, to The Village.
Dad: Not on school nights.
Nathan: And I'm not going to change, you know that, don't you? Cos it's not a phase, I'm not growing out of it. I'm going to be gay forever.
Dad: You've made up your mind, and it's obvious there's no stopping you. It's Helen I'm worried about, she's ten years old, she's a child. I don't want her head filled with notions.
Nathan: Like what?
Dad: As far as Helen is concerned, the anus is for shit. Got that?

God that conversation sure brings me back. Anyway awww I miss Charlie Hunnam's bum boy phase. That's when I fell for him, and that's who he'll always be for me, no matter how many tough guy ass-kicker roles he takes. As lousy and borderline homophobic as I thought Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen was I have to admit that I felt all of Hugh Grant's aggressive grab-handsing at Charlie, since that's how I was raised, QAF-like.

(PS all of the original UK QAF is on Amazon Prime.) Anyway a happy 40 to Charlie today! Check out our extensive archives on him, since this crush pre-dates this blog by half a decade and so we've been extolling his many virtues this entire time.

What's your favorite Charlie Hunnam performance?

I liked him best as Nathan on QAF, easily. He seemed more natural then, and seems more “actorly” now that he’s older. Because of that, every time I see Charlie or Aiden Gillen, I can’t help mentioning that they did some very realistic love scenes together... To the point where friends and family threaten to kick me out whenever one of them appears on the screen. But I can’t help it! It’s how I always see them both.

I will always think of him as gay. Another similar one to him is Tom Hardy. No matter how much butch image they create now they always seem closeted to me among all the others :)
