Good Morning, Gratuitous Desmond Chiam

This isn't really the "Now Apocalypse has been renewed for a second season!" news that Iw as looking for last week when I whined on Twitter about missing that deliciously ridiculous Gregg Araki series, but it's news relatively adjacent to that whinge anyhoo so I might as well take advantage while the taking advantage is good -- if you watched that show (don't tell me if you didn't because I will blame you for its failure) then you'll recognize the actor Desmond Chiam...

... who played Carly's always in need of a good humiliation boyfriend named Jethro. Yes, Jethro. That's the sort of show Now Apocalypse was, and that's why i miss it. Well... one of the many reasons anyway. Anyway Demond has just lined himself up what could be a pretty sweet gig -- he's signed on for a secret role on Marvel's The Falcon and The Winter Soldier series for Disney+, which will have Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie reprising their Avengers characters and like doing something. Hopefully it's more of a something than The Mandalorian does, which is "sit around and expect everybody to show up and watch it because of the brand recognition and hey look a cute puppet.")

Like I said Demond's role on the superhero show is a mystery so we'll have to wait and see if he's playing the Winter Soldier's belly warmer or something more important than that... although what role could be more important than making sure Sebastian Stan's abs are comfortable I can't imagine. That show's not set to premiere until August so we'll see then. For now we can just hit the jump and warm our own bellies with a couple dozen photos...
